Ronald Koeman discussion

My concern is Koeman's own motivational skills - which appear to be close to zero so far this season, and the state of mind of the team given that the top 6 are more or less set in stone now.
That's nonsense as well. We've shown that we are motivated in abundance this year, the players have been running their socks off for weeks, coupled with our fantastic record of recovering points from losing records. We've won 4 of the last 6 games and he's finally turning the corner.

First time we've had a full game of effort all season...21 weeks into it.
It's the first time we've had a full game effort from this side in years Dave. Your beloved was incapable of making them preform like that once the players got to know him and realised he was an empty headed charlatan. Koeman might not ever be the players best friend but he'll be somebody they both fear and respect because he knows what he's doing. Plus the fact that he doesn't insult their intelligence by chatting complete wham all the time will help.

Credit to Koeman for his tactics yesterday. He was brave in a number of ways and it paid off handsomely. We need to carry that on now over the next few months. We've had good results before, but they've usually been immediately followed by poor ones. We need to make sure that doesn't happen and keep the season alive by putting pressure on the sides above us.

It should also be noted that Koeman's training and player development must have been absolutely incredible last week. I mean, he was left with an appalling squad wasn't he? A squad which had virtually no talent at all, and had a terrible mentality. His only hope of improvement was to bring in an entire new team so that we could compete. And yet on the day that he started with the lowest number of his own signings so far, he managed to inflict Pep Guardiola's biggest ever defeat. Truly remarkable.

Amen brethren x

The so called brilliance that is Pep, the money/ decent class of players at City not withstanding. (Though I think more than 3 or 4 are at the Vincent company stages of their top class career. Some maybe good in the CL, but not so hot in the hurly - burly of the Prem.)
It does seem this Pep/Martinez system is easy to counter if you apply yourself to the task
Does Pep have a rethink in him, to go with the rebuilding job he may need to do?

We proved that and learned that in the past 3 seasons.
