Ronald Koeman discussion

It was our best 90 minute performance I can remember in the last few years. Arsenal was the most enjoyable though, blood and thunder and barely legal challenges. And what an ending. Reminded me why I hate and love Everton
Just to confirm, Arsenal this season?

When we played their full strength side.

Oh yeah, activating the murder switch when we went a goal down, Seamus and Williams nodding in and that demented bit at the end with the goal-line clearance and empty Arsenal net that we failed to capitalize on. Madness.

I had 3 cardiac arrests in that game. Still not a record total for an Everton match though.

Think you picked me up wrong.

I'd be less surprised by a low points total and weak and inconsistent performances in the next 5 than I would by an actual run of form.
I've fallen into that trap so many times in recent years. See a list if "easy" fixtures and assume we're going to be flying whereas, in reality, we're much better set up when we dont need to break down teams.

That's why we're crying out for somebody with a bit of guile.

I'd take Jonathan Viera or Dani Parejo

or one of the other little guys that flit around the final third doing wall passes and one-twos and back heels and through-balls and all that good stuff

Both 27, no resale value.

I'd prefer Dani because he is taller and better looking.

Well I am sure it was fun yesterday, but has it really been fun in general??

I made my way over for the Swansea game, christ that was dreadful

Yes.

After the last few seasons we've had, it's just nice to be in an environment where the team and fans are pulling in the same direction. It's good to see an Everton team fight for the shirt again. The Arsenal and City games are two of my favourites i've ever been to. United, West Ham, So'ton and Tottenham were enjoyable. The derby broke my heart but the atmosphere was the best in a derby for a long time.

I'd agree the style of play needs work, and we may find frustration again in some of these games coming up against the lesser teams. But in general, yes it is far, far more fun for me.

About a million times more happy going the match than I was in the last two seasons.

It felt like a chore near the end of Martinez reign.

Koeman has made me enjoy it because I know he is working on making us better and I've seen the progress. Yes there have been some bumps in the road but I can see what he is going for.

I've just renewed my season ticket an hour ago.

I feel like were going places.

In amongst all the moaning are we actually in some decent form? 4 wins 1 draw in 6 in the prem. 4 goals conceded, 13 scored. As usual we chose to botch the one league game we care about most but we're slowly but surely re-finding our solid defence which leads to wins and being in 7th without playing well rather than 13th with everyone patting you on the head as the entertainers.
