Ronald Koeman discussion

You honestly think the players aren't performing under pressure?

So Joel is fighting for the jersey and to retain number one position isn't pressure?
Schneiderlin wanting to impress new team..is that not pressure?
What about Rom? He has a battle to get top scorer in the league. No pressure? You think he won't put pressure on himself to do that?
And Ross? What about him wanting to earn his way back into the England squad ? No pressure again? Really??
How about Jags? Captain trying to force his way back in ?
And the young lads? They under no pressure to perform and cement a first team place in the long term ?

Your talking rubbish as per.

Dom dom dom dodo dom dom.

Saunters in the room...checks you know who isn't spoiling yet another thread...slides back out ...he is....

I keep hoping someone will take over the thread using stats etc to explain ad nauseam that Gordon Lee was a FAR better manager than Koeman is...

This post is partly aimed at Dave who (if I recall correctly) previously questioned Koemans treatment of Ross and Niasse...

Has anyone noticed how (unless he really doesn't rate you - like with Niasse) Koemann manages to keep the squad feeling involved?

Firstly I've noticed he won't drop a player after one bad game but if the player has two or three bad games in a row (eg Jags, Holgate, Lookman) he will drop them.

The dropping is not for ever though and sooner or later they are given a chance to come back.

He is careful to make the youngsters feel involved still: Calvert-Lewin being brought back yesterday, I reckon Lookman will be back as a sub soon and probably Holgate too. I'm sure if there was a way to keep Stek involved without dropping Robles he would think of that too.

I think his man-management is absolutely brilliant. And his coaching ability not bad either...

The point is that THEY couldn't handle the expectation. Not the first time and it won't be the last time. We need a root and branch clear out of the likes of Baines, Mirallas, Jagielka and even players like Coleman if need be.
The first three I'd agree with completely...and I think Koeman is that way incline dot make a non-sentimental decision. But Seamus....you're off your rocker @davek ....absolutely stark raving cuckoo.

Notice that none of them where signed by Martinez, and all four where senior players who didn't come out in defence of the manager, indeed jagielka was heard on video telling Barkley that 'it's him' about the booing, Baines went public with the 'lack of chemistry', mirallas clearly had a falling out with him, and Coleman ... well he's bigged up the new manager and by default is in the doghouse.

Meanwhilst deulofeu has been treated appallingly, niasse was treated like a dog, Moro escapes all form of critic, and never seen a bad word written about cleverley, mcgeady or some others from Dave.

At a certain point it turned from a point of view into a sideshow carnival act.

Sideshow Bob and the Davek 72 pointers, be a decent tribute bands name really.

Back on topic....serious question....do you think Jagielka, Baines and Mirallas are good enough to be in a first 11 that takes us beyond where we are now?
For me, absolutely not. Mirallas isn't good enough to start in the current 11 never mind an improving one with stiffer targets. Baines and Jagielka both peaked 2-3 seasons ago.

Starting 11 then nope, certainly jags isn't and koeman has already effectively replaced him, mirallas is a squad player, and that's his level, Baines is fading but when fit there's still not many better than him - clichy, Milner, monreal, blind/rojo, 4 of the teams where we want to be have inferior starting left backs.
