I hate it when people put everything down to 'bottling it' but...if previous years performances can be put down to bottling it then so can this years. The fact is we've only lost 3 home games all season, and they were probably 3 of the most important ones. We've also failed to banish the curse of the big away games, despite having led in two of them. Our away form in general has been pretty patchy too. So while I personally don't put it down to bottling, I don't accept that there has been a significant mentality change from previous years.
Despite all that, I'm definitely happy with the work Koeman has done overall.
Good post this mate and sums up my feelings on the season. The home form and the manner in which teams have been dispatched has been brilliant. Nearly every important match though we have lost and that includes the good run of 2017. The poor away record at the big grounds continues. Basically better away results and the derby record I think are the main ones to better next season. I would like to see the league cup given a real go at too. 23 years without silverware is too long.
Think it's going to take any manager more than 9 months to change things that have been wrong at Everton for decades though and some big strides have been taken so far.
