Ronald Koeman discussion

They talked about his future quite a bit on Sunday Supplement this morning.

I didn't know that he hosted the interview about Barcelona at his house

It's been a season of solid improvement. While Ronald Koemans first season mightn't have been as thrilling and exciting as Martinez's debut season.I would still take a solid unexciting season if it lead's to something better down the line.As opposed to one thrilling season and then everything going down the tubes in the subsequent seasons.I think this season was all about laying some solid foundations as opposed to the Martinez approach of building the house on quicksand.

It's a delicate matter. I can't post in the appropriate thread so I'd have to give it some thought how to address your question fully. Suffice to say for now that the man in question hasn't won a bean in a decade and prior to that win some BS trophies, including some weird item called The Johan Cruyff Shield x 3.

He won the copa del rey with Valencia in 2008

If we lose Lukaku and particularly Ross, given the go ahead of the waterfront stadium, then this summer becomes massive for Koeman. I cannot fathom why a boyhood blue with the club seemingly on the up would want to leave? Surely a highly thought of manager would have the smarts to keep him.

At the moment I have failed to warm to him. Perhaps his open love for Barcelona and his comments regarding Lukaku in Autumn instantly put me off.

I expect to see some top class players arriving in the summer. Anything less will be unacceptable personally.

He has a huge few months ahead of him.

I agree that he's got a horrendous summer coming up. I wouldn't give a carrot for this team, it's old and flat plus the kids are out the door. If I was him I'd be having sleepless nights, and then you have the crock which is tHe europa to factor into it all. He's gonna earn his money

Watching the U23s tonight we have a real wealth of talent in the midfield and absolutely nothing in attack, goalkeeper or Centre half. The positions we are crying out to strengthen in the 1st team.

Walsh and Koeman need to be up 24/7 to sort these issues out.
Very busy 3 months ahead.

It doesn't, but to be fair he did rather well with Southampton and has not made a bad start with us when you consider what he inherited.

7th & 7th; a fair start or as good as it gets
aye, that is the question.

'ked if I know either way, at the moment my 'swing-o-meter' has edged into The Dutch Moyes segment...next season will show us, well those of us that will allow ourselves to see, a better lie of the land

Yup, I think it was always going to be next season when we can truly judge him.

Not making excuses for him, but long term injuries to Coleman, McCarthy, Besic, and Bolasie, added to Gueye going off for a month, Schneids also missing quite a few since joining won't have helped his cause.

I like the fact he has been willing to give the youth a chance and never panicked, which also tells me he knows it is all about next season too.

His bedding in period is over, it's down to business now.
