Ronald Koeman discussion

@Neiler Posted on the rs thread that we were unlucky not to beat a Man City team, that destroyed our neighbours yesterday at their place.I think we should reflect on that some more, to provide some balance to the rampant doom and gloom on here!Yesterday was disappointing for sure but there's a long season ahead.

They didn't tho. They beat a ten man team tiring and with they're best player of the park. The game was even until the sending of.

I'm not sure about this. A lot of people are wanting to blame the board or Walsh for not identifying a striker to sign yet Koeman said he knew who he wanted and if he couldn't get any of them then he would make do with what he had.

Also looking at the signings made since he got here, Schniederlin, Martina, Stekelenberg and Klaassen at least are all obviously "Koeman players" so he gets involved more than some people would suggest.

All of them have dropped the ball here I reckon.

You're on to something there. Now Koeman and Walsh naturally will have many discussions before signing a player, however there will be signings wanted by Walsh and signings wanted by Koeman.

Purely speculative but I wager the Walsh 'type' signings as Gueye, DCL, Lookman, Pickford, Keane and Sandro.

Koeman - Williams, Stek, Bolasie, Schneiderlin, Klaassen, Martina.

Then there are those that you could call to be joint ie Rooney, Sigurdsson, Vlasic plus others.

As far as transfers go I have more faith in Walsh and his type of signings than ones you can tell are definitely Koeman's. There's got to be a reason why we've yet again failed to add key targets and panic late in the window and perhaps it is down to disagreements on transfers.

Again it's purely a theory, maybe that's why the team doesn't feel right because its made up of two peoples ideas. If we are insisting on having a DOF let Walsh do the majority of transfers unless Koeman really wants a player. Otherwise I have no idea why Walsh was brought in.

Hopefully we will improve and hopefully the team gels and the new signings fit in, sooner rather than later.Because we spent an awful lot of money this past summer, just to stand still or go backwards!

Because a club of Everton's size should not be classing 7th and winning games against a team who haven't won a league title in 28 years as a success.

Yes and they are a team that we haven't beaten since October 2010.Im all for standards but i honestly think 7th and a derby win or two, could be classed as an alrightish season. Not a successful season now.An okay one. There is having standards and there is delusion. This squad is not quite ready to challenge the elite yet imo.

No, but a bit of realism isnt misplaced.

It feels like we have bombed into Woolies and had a free run at the Pick and Mix. Which is what a few have done to be fair.

Thing is, and we can all see it, there is a glaring Bertie Basset missing, and we seem to be trying to fill in with a few sherbet saucers.

And the Bertie Basset reference is a sweet based reference. Nothing else. ffs.

Difficult days.

I'm sure all managers want success, doesn't mean they get it.

A Striker wouldn't make any difference to yesterday either, they were vastly superior in every area of the pitch
If giroud was up top yesterday it wouldn't have made any difference to the performance or result unless if course it meant a change in formation
