Ronald Koeman discussion

He'll see out this season atleast, he needs to earn his corn now and turn this round, he's had full backing from the board, this is his team, he now has to deliver with it.

Massive fail not getting a striker in though, but that is not down to Koeman, I'm sure he was pressing hard for one but Walsh and Kenwright are more to blame if you ask me, they are the ones in charge of recruiting players.

In hindsight Lukaku should never have been sold without a suitable replacement lined up.

Not that he asked for a striker and a center-back and the board failed to deliver. If those players were in there is no excuse.

Davies going through a little bad patch so Koeman drops him like a penny but persists with playing schneiderlin who has been absolutely terrible recently.

We will see now 100% if the team is playing for the manager, gea basically called them all out with these comments. We get stubbed which looks a likelihood, then he's gonna get crucified in the media.

As for the younger players getting thrown effectively in the bin by him in this statement. He won't be here much longer and the next bloke in will have a group of young hungry players eager to show how wrong koeman was to ignore them.

Lookman, Davies, Kenny will all prove under most likely Unsworth as caretaker how good and ready they are.

Koeman sounds like a bloke gambling everything on getting a reaction against United, feeling he's gonna get a distinct showing of how he's regarded by the team now...

Koeman does not gove the youth the chance unless he has to...... As he did at Southampton.

Awful manager IMO

So basically no kids Sunday but if we get whammed - which we likely will - then he'll maybe give them a chance?

Season starts after Sunday then I guess.

Worrying thing is that a few of our fans think that we should judge the team against the likes of Bournemouth and Burnley, etc, and not the 4 league games we've just had! £142m spent this Summer, and that's the thinking.

Seen a few things on twitter where people are referring to Atalanta as the italian west ham. Don't know to much about them but my friend who watches a lot of europa league assures me that they made a very good account of themselves last year (could be winding me up). We all know that we are lacking on the goals front now rom has left but what is going on with the defence? 6 goals this week. One of the first noticeable things Koeman did last year when he came in was sure up the defence and made us look somewhat solid again. Yet all of a sudden we are letting in goals left right and centre. After the way we defended last year and getting keane in on top you would think he could at least be sound in that department but no. Very odd and starting to get a little worried now ...

Stands to reason that they have a good account of them selves last year ... seeing as they're in the Europa

koeman has made mistakes but people are overrating our youth so much. Do you really think we'll be much better with Holgate,Kenny,Davies and Lookman in the team???

Holgate isn't that good, Davies has talent but nowhere near good enough te start every week, same for Lookman. Kenny i don't know. Besides that Calvert Lewin plays a lot and Vlasic started against Atalanta. There's no manager in the PL who plays so much teenagers and not just because he has to.

You can critisize him for a lot of things but for not playing the youth enough is BS.

He has given youth a chance. The one mistake he has made is not giving Kenny a chance.

Done really well last season Atalanta, they haven't had a great start to their season I heard someone saying. Biggest problem they have had is that they've had to sell their best players this season.

To play Devil's advocate, £142m is what you spend to stand still in the top half of the Premier League these days, not break in to the top 6.

And considering we're so bad, our performances against the likes of Burnley and Bournemouth will be more significant because it will show if we're just a mediocre Premier League team or relegation fodder.

Can't really argue with that I suppose mate, saying that though, even though we probably won't make top 6, I expect some sort of challenge to the top 6, and not just challenging for best of the rest again.

Not expecting anything tomorrow (even though I've said we'll win 2-1!) one thing I won't be able to take though mate, is another abject, cowardly performance.

..I think what you spend is only part of the equation. The likes of Chelsea, City and United buy from a position of strength which is a significant factor. It's much different spending big money on a number of recruits as part of a whole team build project.

It's been a poor start to the season but it was all quite predictable if you think about it, especially since we didn't get the striker Koeman was demanding for weeks. Think people are going way overboard with the anti Koeman stuff personally.

Playing people in their correct position would help as well. Holgate isn't a right back anymore than Stones was, but plays better in the centre.

Given that we have a question mark over Williams (especially) and Jagielka, and a right back in Kenny who deserves a chance, it shouldn't be rocket science to try Holgate at CB and Kenny at RB when the players who have been tried in those positions do not cut it.

Then you have the whole Sigurdsson on the wing phenomenon, without anyone to play the ball to.

Agree with this. Not as if it could be any worse than the last 3 games.
