Ronald Koeman discussion

We're 5 games in and we've played Chelsea, City, United and Spurs. Bit of perspective wouldn't go a miss.

Hold on.

It wasn't that long ago we were all thinking maybe top 6 this season. Whilst a tough fixture list, you'd expect some kind of a display from our lads to suggest we've got somewhat of a chance of that.

We've played utter bollocks in every game we've played so far. There is nothing of note to take from any of it to think it only needs ' tweaking '.

Then you look at Burnley (your perspective ) who have so far played Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool away and have come away with 5 points.

You're still sugar coating it. Why ?

We are a 'kin shambles, have supposedly spent some decent coin, turned our noses up at signing a number 9 because 'we didn't need one ' and our clubs hierarchy were happy with what we've got.

Pathetic

I guess we will find out how Ruthless Moshiri is. By all accounts it was apparent that Kenwright wanted to give Martinez a bit longer but Moshiri said no.
I think I wish Kenwright had his way now, Koemans even worse than Martinez. I also found Martinez more likeable pity it all went wrong. But it looks to me Koeman will land up the same way sooner rather than later as his signing and way of playing just isn't working.

Next four games are massive now. Results wise I expected us to lose vs Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd and the Man City point was a bonus. The performances have been shocking but if there's a silver lining to that it's that id rather we were poor in games I expect us to lose anyway rather then in games we should be winning. All four games coming at home and all four are matchs we should be looking to win convincingly, these games will be make it break time for Koeman imo.

I expect to lose Man City away, Chelsea away and Man Utd away because that will be typical. Drawing Spurs at home perhaps. So it somehow similiar to what I imagine in the first space. 1 point out of these 4 fixtures. The gaps between 6th and 7th is huge.

To sum up, we must pick up wins now.

Mourinho, here:

"They had chances, with the quality they have. I am pretty sure Everton are going to be fine, they are going through a difficult moment. Honestly the fixtures they got, I wouldn't like those all at once. To play against all of them, like they are doing, is not fair."
I so badly want to put my tinfoil hat on and say the fixtures were the FA's doing to throw us off and protect their precious 'big clubs'.

Also, getting a bit sick of the Burnley idolising.

Totally agree we are so rush it's scary, I'm beginning to think he's the worst manager we have had, Mike walker was bad but the last 4 games are something else.

We're not playing well but hopefully that'll change with easier fixtures. From the same games last year we got 2 more points... The damage that's been done in these first 5 games isn't terminal.

It's been a horrible start for lots of reasons but the performance today was improved and I'm optimistic for things improving over the coming weeks.
I hope you're right mate, I really do. But I honestly can't see where the next goal is coming from.
It's a weird thing to say, but the nature of that defeat is what worries me. Giving effort and being outclassed I can handle. I just fear the already low confidence has just been shattered.

People thinking it can only get better from here im expecting it to get much worse.agaist the top sides we have the excuse and could have shown some fight and attacking threat but instead we went with negative tactics and fell apart. Now we are in the bottom 3. Confidence lost and the fans turning on the team. If we dont score in the first 10 mins next week i expect the fans to turn on the team and the opposition will aim to frustrate the team and fans. This xould now be a very long hard season.

Total bellend taking Davies and Gana off, how he kept Sigurdsson on has baffled the heck out of me.

in fairness Lou, they were 'positive' changes.

They weren't negative. If anything, it was reckless.

Tom Davies was excellent and should have stayed on. I agree with you.

Mourinho made an excellent change in bringing on Lingard and Herrera. Koeman fell into the trap of trying to get our attackers on all at once, when all it probably needed was Calvert-Lewin for Gylfi.
