Ronald Koeman discussion

I hope you're right mate, I really do. But I honestly can't see where the next goal is coming from.
It's a weird thing to say, but the nature of that defeat is what worries me. Giving effort and being outclassed I can handle. I just fear the already low confidence has just been shattered.

tbf lad, that's exactly what happened today

I so badly want to put my tinfoil hat on and say the fixtures were the FA's doing to throw us off and protect their precious 'big clubs'.

Also, getting a bit sick of the Burnley idolising.

What is it us about the "Burnley idolising" you don't like?

Is it that the hard facts contained in the results they are achieving totally negates the defence put forward by the Koemantonians?

Hold on.

It wasn't that long ago we were all thinking maybe top 6 this season. Whilst a tough fixture list, you'd expect some kind of a display from our lads to suggest we've got somewhat of a chance of that.

We've played utter bollocks in every game we've played so far. There is nothing of note to take from any of it to think it only needs ' tweaking '.

Then you look at Burnley who have so far played Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool away so far and have come away with 5 points.

You're still sugar coating it. Why ?

We are a 'kin shambles, have supposedly spent some decent coin, turned our noses up at signing a number 9 because 'we didn't need one ' and our clubs hierarchy were happy with what we've got.

Pathetic

Your post is just ridiculously knee jerk though. We've lost our two best attacking players, completely overhauled the squad and had a nightmare run of fixtures. Whilst no one wants to be in the position we're in it's understandable why it's happened.

Things can change very quickly in this game. We've got some very winnable games coming up that'll hopefully allow the lads to grow in confidence. You can shout from the rooftops about how bad we've been. It doesn't need to be done, we can all see it with our eyes. Hopefully you can be feeling a lot happier in a couple of months time when things have settled down and this nightmare start has been put to bed.

in fairness Lou, they were 'positive' changes.

They weren't negative. If anything, it was reckless.

Tom Davies was excellent and should have stayed on. I agree with you.

Mourinho made an excellent change in bringing on Lingard and Herrera. Koeman fell into the trap of trying to get our attackers on all at once, when all it probably needed was Calvert-Lewin for Gylfi.

Not knocking the changes for being negative Toff, they were just the wrong changes in regards to the players he brought off IMO.

Whether Sigurdsson is being played out of position or not, he was total gash today and offered nothing, but for some reason stayed on the pitch, I really hope the reason he was kept on wasn't because he can take a decent set - piece.

The clique tell me there are jets flying in the area this afternoon, happy for one of them to land on Ronalds head at this stage.

Keep the faith bungz

Koeman's bonce is that big that it has magnetic poles, he's just undergoing the change in poles. Once it fully switches we'll be sound ;)

Everybody with half a brain knew we needed a CF before the start of the season. Its an absolute disgrace that we have to go until January before we can address the situation. The way we are playing we could be cut adrift with Palace by then.

If we can't score goals to make up for our defensive mistakes we are in big trouble.

The issue is whoever comes in will have to
deal with the players we have bought this summer and they all look very poor buys and I include Keane and Pickford in that category at present.

Well, we're going to spend a lot more time in the opposition half over the next few games and that always helps in the search for goals.

Historically we've always struggled against Spurs, Chelsea and United. This season hasn't been any different, it's just a shame that these fixtures came in a run at the start of the season.

Mourinho, here:

"They had chances, with the quality they have. I am pretty sure Everton are going to be fine, they are going through a difficult moment. Honestly the fixtures they got, I wouldn't like those all at once. To play against all of them, like they are doing, is not fair."
Lol! Jose the psychologist/diplomat. I like him better when he loses and we can see his true colourslol I don't like it when he's patting us on the head after smashing us for the umpteenth time in his career.

We're 5 games in and we've played Chelsea, City, United and Spurs. Bit of perspective wouldn't go a miss.
And we have played them games with no defence and no attack. That's your perspective

Burnley beat Chelsea
Swansea held spurs
Stoke held United

We conceded for fun. Everyone can beat anyone in this league now sure, don't want to take away from that. But we are lacking the pure basics of football now. Mass recruitment or not, we have no defence, nothing in attack if we do concede and 200 midfielders who just pass it to each other before Rooney gives it away.

Mate the perspective here is that we can't even stop conceding and if there are goals against us for teams then the lack of attack is even more worrying
