Ronald Koeman discussion

As much as I'm anti-Koeman.

Despite his mistake in his starting XI being way too negative. We vastly improved.

Understandably, we didn't score and that's a huge concern. We all knew that though!

That aside, we were very much on top for large periods of that match, whilst United had their opportunities too, Rooney and Sigurdsson both had chances which could have seen us actually put ourselves in a good position.

I can't blame Koeman for any of the goals. Valencia scores a highlight reel goal, Williams is (once again) super sloppy. Schneiderlin, is desperately unlucky too.

He still has a lot to answer for, for me. I'm not sure whether he's the right fit for our club, and the reality is we've conceded 10 goals in 8 days and that's worrying.

His away record, is also atrocious. Need to fix that.

The lineup he started screamed being too afraid, can't see how that showed him giving/having confidence in the players.

Personally Legs, the only one i'd have switched would have been DCL in for Davies, and maybe Holgate for Martina.

Ironically enough, Martina and Davies were two of our best players...

Not one for knee-jerk reactions either but I thought all along since the Chelsea game that we will never go anywhere as a club if our custodians don't uphold and enforce standards in how we play and results.

Why on earth should we consider the last 4 league games as some sort of free pass? What is the point at all if we don't wish to compete with and beat these sides and when we don't, what are we going to do about it?

If we don't insist on better and be bold then we'll remain in the rut we have been in for 25 years.

Daniel Levy took action in getting rid of Villas-Boas after a 0-5 reverse against Liverpool. Free pass? Absolutely not, and look where that attitude has taken them since.

A 1-10 aggregate in these 4 games is just frankly embarrassing. We had our fun with signings in pre-season but it actually hurts that fans of the sides we as fans aspire to compete with can look at us and just see how abysmal we are.

Thing is, Bournemouth and Burnley aren't going to roll over to accomodate Koeman and even winning those games, well, so what in effect if longer-term damage has been done over the last fortnight.

It just feels we have been put very firmly back in our box again.

On balance, and if we can afford it, I would pay Koeman off. There is a ceiling with him and we are not going to break through it under his management. More positively, I think it would say loud and clear that 0-12 in four games is just not acceptable, and never can be at EFC.

Realistically, who are we getting in that is going to transform our fortunes?

I don't even think Koeman is anything more than a good manager but he's been dealt a horrible hand here. If you ask any single manager in the world what they think of a complete squad overhaul followed by 4 of the most difficult fixtures in the first 5 games then they would tell you it's a nightmare scenario.

We absolutely deserved to get beat 4-0 today.

We made loads of mistakes, lets not pretend Williams was the only one, Pickford, Jagielka, Keane all made awful passes in our defence that were not punished.

We had a handful of half chances and that's it. They did not have to get out of first gear.

And a game lasts 90 minutes, not 80. Just because we did OKish for 80 minutes does not mean that the last ten didn't happen and does not count in the "deserved result" stakes.

Utter embarrassments the lot of them.

To be fair this is true. Awful passing just hoof it sometimes for god sake.

The hard fact is they beat chelsea when chelsea had two sent off.
The hard fact is they lost at home to West Brom without a shot on target.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.....

At least they beat Chelsea with men sent off.......we played practically a whole half of football against ten man Man City and looked like we were the team a man short.

(and don't try and say "but we only had ten men as well....Schneiderlin was sent off very near the end :p)

8 games, new squad, difficult fixtures. I'd say your reaction was pretty knee jerk. You're acting like the world has caved in and we're doomed to relegation.

If we go on a good run over the coming weeks (perfectly feasible this could happen) you'll have calmed down a lot.

There you go again with your ' winnable games ' scenario. There is no such thing as winnable games.

Especially on the back end of three consecutive thrashings and not scoring a goal for nearly 400 minutes of togger.

Yep exactly mate people are just being girls not forgetting who we've played these past games aswell ffs. This will be turned around FACT

Still does not seem to know what team or formation to choose and stick to,or even play in there right postions, saying what he did about kenny saying the u23s is not the prem league etc,is almost dismissing every u23 player right from the off-the likes of lookman and kenny should be at least subs or starting,i would play both from the start myself, these are the players that will want it more than some of the ones that have come in from the outside-we have games we should win comming up next month but these are the teams that will go for us,and koeman could be in trouble if he doesnt win them i say

So for all you people who want koeman out. Give me a manager who will come? Not who you want " who will come " and also tell me who's going to score the goals?.....

I agree things must improve now. Only thing is we got 6 points in the same fixtures last season. See how will things turn out over the next month. Koeman will solve this.
