Ronald Koeman discussion

Come on mate.

You're one of the most sensible, balanced posters on here - if you make a chance, you create it.

Williams' mistake gave Lukaku the ball for their second, but he still created the chance for Mkhitaryan.

Davies' pressing won the ball high up the pitch for Rooney's chance, and though Rooney bundled his way through, he was still in the right place etc.

Same goes for Gylfi.

Yeh, it wasn't slick stuff, but when has it ever been for us at OT?
We won there under RM in fact we did the double on unt we got record prem points under RM - sadly things went wrong - no good playing ok for 80 minutes then a 4-0 defeat as that's what the stats say!
RK I want him gone we are in the bottom 3 and when you fall there its hard to recover - our football has been crass!

It's an improvement on previous games

I'm saying they never really had their foot on.

I have already acknowledged that we played with passion and aggression which was much improved and said it was probably our best performance of the season in the first half buddy.

Doesn't change the fact it was still crap!

That to me just says that unless we perform and win at the same time you will pick holes mate.

I was sat with United fans watching the game yesterday, the consensus was that we were the better side for a lot of that game and 4-0 completely and utterly flattered them.

Seen us play worst than that and win. Maybe United are actually not as good as you expected them to be.

We seem to have a habit of building others up and ripping ours down very easily on here sometimes.

In summary, it wasn't marvellous, we were very weak at the business end of the pitch and started very poorly initially.

I know your heart is in the right place, lets all get behind them and pray we turn it around.

Yes it was but as I said the stats say 4-0 it's hard to take - he has to go end of - I never forecast on here but I told my older brother before the season started the player which had been brought in were no replacement for Ross , and Lukaku - also the rid of good squad players youth players all got rid of we have lack of cover in key positions oap defenders bar one - he deserves the sack!

I missed the game myself flying back yesterday so the scoreline did seem unjust but it,s not isolated in results so far. It,s the collapse that was telling again.

Here is the thing, I think he knows he has to make changes but he blew a lot of money on players who he now needs to play which is costing us all around the pitch. Personally he is a stubborn man like a few mangers before him and he would rather get fired/walk before he gives up and rips up the system.

If he had any sense he would promote Unsy to the first team coaching set up and take on board another opinion that could change his fortunes.
That ain't going to happen when Unsworth isn't speaking directly to him!

We were miles better yesterday the improvement was there to see. We took in part exchange an old has been who missed two sitters
Koeman is not a fault, the board let him build a team but failed with the most necessary part a front man
I said a while back the boards utter incompetence will be exposed week in week out as Lukaku smashes them in and gets the golden boot!
And we trust these jokers to build a stadium ....... `40 year mortgage farhad and Co out`

Who would you have as the new manager?

After 5 league games with 4 of them being against the likely top 4 this season, and 3 of them away from home, to call for his head at this point is badly Geordie.

We've got a run of what on paper look winnable games now, he's now got the chance to turn it round. If he doesn't then he's in trouble, but he deserves longer to sort this out.

Miles better but the stats say beaten 4-0!

The day after the 'inevitable' collapse to Manchester United; I'm still of the opinion that his time is up. I'm no knee-jerker, or bedwetter for that matter. I've been devoutly following Everton for the past 40 years. I get behind managers and players, and have done with Koeman.

It is one thing overseeing a slow decline of a football team, but to completely mess up a team so spectacularly after only a couple of months, despite the biggest transfer spend in the clubs history, is simply not on. This is Mike Walker levels of ineptitude. Koeman has been completely careless at best with his management of our team.

Good teams in transition can be excused for having dips in form. What we are witnessing is not just a dip in form, but is more a collapse. There is a line between acceptable and unacceptable at Everton, and the Atalanta game was the moment Koeman fell over it. That game reminded me of Walter Smith's last game which iirc was a 3:0 defeat away to Boro. It was simply a big fat NO.

Koeman's post-match Atalanta interview saw him commenting how the team was not prepared. He had more than enough time to prepare.
Koeman's post-match ManU interview saw him commenting on how Everton being a top 4 team is pretty much a joke. What message does this send to the players?

I don't care what happens in the next 4 games. He is done.
