I think Koeman had more of a say than that. He only started making noises about buying a striker towards the end of the window. Before the first Europa league qualifier, he seemed quite happy with the squad.

Why didn't we just keep Lukaku another season, we would still have got a good price for him next summer, he couldn't really afford to kick up a fuss as the it's World Cup year.
