Ronald Koeman discussion

In koeman's defence, he is being reactive.people called for niasse to be given a chance and he was. People then wanted him starting and he did. Same instance with Kenny. People wanted holgate to start. They wanted Rooney dropped, two up front, klaassen dropped, Davies to start vlasic to start. He answered every call that fans thought would help. And that's just this week alone! But nothing worked

Yup, we were looking good in that 4-4-2 right up to Burnley scoring

I have a gut feeling he'll walk before he’s sacked. He wants that Barca job and if he's sacked from us after spending 150m his rep will take a massive knock. If he walks he can blame the club for not matching his ambition, backing his transfer demands and all sorts like that. He's all about self-preservation. The man has no emotional bond to our club, not even the slightest and the impression I get is he simply isn’t that bothered right now. That is unforgivable.

Everton are interested in appointing Walter Mazzarri as their new manager, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It has been reported that the Toffees made contact with the former Napoli head coach immediately after their 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

A meeting could take place in the coming days, with Mazzarri “intrigued” by the prospect of working in the Premier League again, according to the report.

I can’t remember is he the Ex Watford one who was crap?

The issue is just that Mikey.

Collapsed and reverted to type after 20 minutes.

It's a shambles.

The experienced players are to blame as well.

Baines - their goal again came from him being negative and playing a crap pass, even though the defending was garbage.

Schneiderlin and Gana - both dire.

Williams - awful.

Sigurdsson - missed two great chances.

Those players need to be stepping up, but Koeman seems to pick them no matter what.

Sigurdsson, yes there's leeway and he needs to be played in his correct role. That's about confidence and settling down. Build a team around him.

Baines, we have no other choice, but he's simply not up to scratch to be starting three games a week anymore.

One of the DM's needs dropping.

Just as a genuine question, did you view Palace as ambitious when they sacked FDB?

Like, I'm not sure the main criteria of an ambitious club is sacking a manager, that's all - even though if Koeman was shown the door then I wouldn't really care.
I don't think sacking a manager makes a club ambitious, but I would expect an ambitious club to sack a manager when things have clearly gone south. Chelsea did it with Mourinho, United with Moyes, Liverpool with Rodgers. Clubs with real ambition don't accept poor performance for long.

I'm hoping that statement from Moshiri is part of a gentleman's agreement. I.E. the decision has been make. Moshiri gives his backing, RK makes a statement today thanking the club for their support, but he's decided to walk.

Given that the people who run the club thought Koeman was a top class manager, a match for the other big names in the North East, and worth shelling out a lot of money for....I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the possibility they would look to the manager Watford sacked.

There's a big difference between Goodison hostility and other clubs tbf. How many clubs have booed their players off at half time at Wembley for example? (Semi against United 2015) When we've had enough it gets ugly.

We got a heck of a response that day at Wembley after we booed the team off at half time.

Very unlucky to lose in the end, after an atrocious first half.

North East???

Agree with the rest though. Utterly dull manager. Southampton hadn't offered him an extension, yet when we came sniffing they held us to ransom!!

Koeman needs to go immediately, but we need a clear out at board level before we make the next bad decision.

"the great managers of the world are being drawn to the north west of England.....Jose, Pep, Klopp and now lol"

Thus spake Moshiri after he had chucked enough dough at both Saints and Ronald to fetch our superstar manager here :pint2:
