Ronald Koeman discussion

He wanted another defender also, which he didn't get. But we did make a number of good signings - Pickford, Keane, Sigurdsson, Vlasic....

I just don't get how people are not seeing the bigger picture here. There are serious mitigating circumstances here - trying to gel so many new players, given how hard we know it can be to adapt for foreign players in particular. Not getting some of the players he wanted. Being back in Europe which is always tough. A freakishly tough opening fixture list. A few losses compound a lack of confidence

But compared to a Martinez or an Unsworth for example, Koeman has a world of experience. Fans should be supporting through this period to help the team, not make the situation even worse. But most are brainless couch potatoes with big opinions despite never having kicked a ball in their lives themselves, unfortunately.......
Oh, we're all brainless but you can see the bigger picture. Gotcha.

I mean, we didn't have to sign so many new players. The fact that Klaassen, Martina, and Sandro in particular currently don't look any better than players who were already here tells me that we may have been a little hasty to jump into the transfer market and replace players without actually thinking it through. And I wouldn't necessarily call Burnley, Stoke, Bournemouth, Brighton or Limassol 'freakishly' tough...

Hate the whole board argument, are they to blame for not getting a striker and spending too long on the Gylfi chase... absolutely and they should be held accountable for that.

Koeman sets the team up, talks constantly about "pressure and the first man pressing the ball to win it back" but he never sets his team up for this, or he does and the team ignores him, am not sure which one is worse right now.

Sack him this morning, throw the world at Ancelotti and Tuchel and see what sticks.

One thing is for sure, lets not hold on for an extra 6 weeks like we did with bloody Martinez.

In fairness to Koeman Chazzle, he has made the changes the fans wanted.

I said this last night.

As much as we bemoan every team selection, he's actually done what we've asked of him.

He dropped two DMs. He went with the youngsters. He brought pace and energy into the side.

It still didn't work.

That's a combination of having no plan, and ultimately having players who aren't good enough - I think we have to accept that as well.

He's just throwing stuff at the wall and hoping something sticks now mate, usually the last throes of a manager on his last legs, be surprised if he's still here after the Chelsea game.

I disagree to a certain extent. The issue we had with the summer was not who we signed individually but as a collective.

Said it the other day but take klassen, in and out the team, how us he meant to settle and claim a place if 4 days later he is dropped again? Klassen would have been a good signing if we didn't then make him 4th choice within 2 months! In fact individually

Sandro - good young cheap striker. Low risk high reward. No system in mind to fit him in

Klassen - every attribute on paper we wanted for a player, replaced him 3 times in 2 months

Siggurson- brilliant player for a centre forward, failed to sign centre forward

Rooney- pretty much not given anything to work with attacking wise

Pickford - crap defence in front of him

Keane- has Williams as a partner

Vlasic - the one player who has actually stood out for me so far despite the team

Martina - terrible footballer, never should have signed him.

I would have a Smith and Walker dream team right now ahead of this drivel.
No. Just no.

Nearly as bad as the Fat Sam and Warnock suggestions.

I'll take it that comment was a bit tongue in cheek. Otherwise you'd better go and stick your head in a tumble dryer until you stop muttering nonsense.

Not sure the fans were demanding a line up of Martina, Klaassen, Williams, Holgate at LB and DCL in all honesty

Only Williams outperformed expectations

I think most of the players we have would look like new ones with a manager who wasn't as unlikable, blunt or as stubborn as this one. Someone who took a little responsibility himself instead of continually calling players out and pointing the plump, pastie-stained finger.

I agree with individual points but as a list of arguments that reads like a wholesale criticism of our business in the summer, for which Koeman and Walsh bear full responsibility.

Nobody forced us to buy these players, and nobody forces Koeman into individual selection / formation / tactical decisions.

He is the manager, paid handsomely, and we are, I won't say "entitled" to expect better, but I think we had a very reasonable expectation of seeing and doing much better than this.

Look at the impact Silva has made at Watford and what he is working with relative to Koeman.

Thats how it looked to me too. We ended up with 6 attack minded players on the pitch along with overlapping FBs. Not surprising they were good on the counter really.
