Ronald Koeman discussion

So you'd presumably give credit to Rodgers in the Chelsea and palace games mate, where every other person thought he was a massive dolt
Rodgers? He did the only thing he could do: hand over the team to Gerrard and stand back and hope Suarez scored two goals to the oppositions one.

Rodgers doesn't even come into it. He had no method. No principles. Surely you knew that? He went to Liverpool advocating the new religion of Tiki Taka he thought it was dead clever to align himself with, then when the Joe Allen ball recycling Liverpool venture fell on its arse he stepped aside sharpish to let Gerrard get on with knocking balls over the top to Suarez.

That's a million miles away from a manager like Martinez who actually does hold strong principles and sticks by them.

Can't wait to see what Koeman does with another two transfer windows behind him.

Hopefully we can get in the Top 6 this season and use that as a base to attract the sort of player Koeman wants.

I'm just playing, I enjoyed most of Roberto's time here. Outside of match days and press conferences and transfer windows.
Most of???? Meaning majority? Meaning the larger amount? Meaning more than half?

We were crap for two years mate.. how could you enjoy that?

He took a forward off and replaced him with a forward and another forward off and replaced him with a defensive midfielder.

Nothing to see there.

The defence collapsed because they were weak men, psychologically not up to it...as Koeman is now recognising.

Davek.... you really are in a world of your own... all your posts are from a point of view that literally... no other human can see

Yes. Ultimately it was his can to carry.

All told on martinez: he came here and tried to get us playing great football and winning football. It worked for a season and a few patches of games in the following two. It was something ultimately though that he couldn't get the players and support to keep buying into. He lost his job. End of.

...but at least he wasn't a turd and at least tried to play football the right way. I'll always take an idealist over a pragmatist.

He tried getting Wigan to play decent football too... they dropped out of the league and are in the relagation zone in th championship now.... he jumped ship and left them rooted.... he is a fraud and will never get a big job again IMO after he ruins the Belgium team..

@davek ... if RM wasn't responsible for the fragility of our defence , can you please explain how we conceded less goals when Moyes had basically the same players ... and how RK has stopped the goals going in since RM was sacked?

...and it's what won them a cup they would never have seen in a million years otherwise.

They were relagated and now sit in the championship relagation zone... probably never to get back in the prem.. he would have taken us down this year if he wasn't sacked imo

He will probably say it's everyone fault it's Jags it's Baines just not Martinez's. Did he say we put 9 players behind the ball now that's why we concede less under Ronald?

The 2012-13 Moyes side conceded 40 goals while scoring 55 goals. The 2013-14 Martinez side conceded 39 goals while scoring 61 goals.
