Ronald Koeman discussion

His Soton side finished 6th in a Season where leics won the league, Utd were cack, Chelsea finished mid table, Liverpool 8th. Last season was a total anomaly.

So the 7th place they got the season before meant nothing?

We sit in 6th after 11 games!!!!!!!!!most of which you would probably expect us to win. A few hard fixtures coming now. To say this after only 11 games is nothing short of ridiculous.

Every team plays every other twice. So that logic is irrelevant until the season finishes. Only 11 games? That's nearly a third of the season.

Chelsea were very good, it was the manner of our 'performance' that is the hardest to deal with. Just because Utd have been poor doesn't detract from that

Never said the performance was anything less than embarrassing nor that anything detracts from that The football has been poor for most of the season so far. Perspective is everything. We are currently above United who have a far superior squad and one of the world's best managers.

He's doing better job than the other candidates!!!! That like comparing apples with oranges. Who are these candidates? Apart from De Boer. Please tell.

I'd be more than happy to oblige. Emery iso struggling with PSG. Mourihno is struggling with United. Pellegrini in China. Tuchel with Dortmund in the league. All managers we were linked with, and who are currently under performing.

Our home form has vastly improved? Compared to what? We've played Spurs, stoke, boro, palace and West Ham. 11 points 8 goals 3 against. With the exception of Spurs, we should be winning the others. how can you come to the assumption that our home form has vastly improved after only 5 games.

Must have missed all of our home games last year then. Especially the ones where we got beat by West Ham and Stoke, and didn't beat any of the teams listed at home.

System? What system? Whatever the system you're talking about, you think Williams, Bolasie and Guaye suit it 'better'!!!!!!

In fact, have you watched any game at all? Steve Walsh's job is literally to bring in suitable players. Those 3 have been among the best in the team this season.

I'm struggling to understand your expectations?....

:pint2:

Wow, where to start with that one! I'll answer each point

The 7th place Soton got the previous season was his 1st season with them. he took over pochetinos team and improved their league position despite selling most of their best players. Is/ was it too much to ask for him to do something similar here?

Regarding the sitting in 6th place, you're the one who made out not to worry as 'we still sit in 6th place'. Is that not irrelevant until the season finishes?

Utd sit 3 points behind and play Swansea tomorrow. An extremely poor Utd side that have won only 1 of their last 7 league games. How's that for perspective?

Regarding the candidates. Do you honestly REALLY think that Mourinho, Tuchel and Emery were candidates? Just because there were rumours doesn't make them candidates.

As I've said elsewhere, if we're using last seasons home form as a barometer, god help us. Roland rat could have improved on it.

You said 3 new signing have suited the system better. I asked what system? If your happy with Bolasie, there's not much I can say to that.

I wasn't keen on Koeman coming in. I'm even less keen on him as time goes by.

If he gets rid of the deadwood and the board give him some money then who knows....

Sheeeeesh.

So we shouldn't be uneasy when we're not winning?

So we were in the top 4 and you complained about expectations being too high...

Now you expect 8th.

Now 8th and mid table isn't good enough.

But you're not demanding top 6...

Oh no, wait. You are.

The post you've found have been taken right out of context, post them with the dates on and you'll see the expectation has dwindled the longer the season has drawn on, and my conclusion that Koeman is lacking. Some of the posts you've picked up on are in answer to people who think Koeman was The Man.
the 1st one is my expectation of the coming season.

2. Was the atmosphere at home, it is shocking. At the match we're there to support. Not boo when we don't win. You've posted that like you think that's ok. There's a big difference taking your 'unease' out at the match or on a Football Forum.

3. I was complaining about the negative atmosphere in the ground, especially the treatment of Ross. Everything I've posted there is spot on and I stand by. were there to SUPPORT, even in games you expect us to win. There's a difference between my expectation and other people's. We cant just turn up and expect to roll teams over. You gotta fight for every point in this League.

4. That was in response to someone saying they'd be happy to finish above mid table. No mention of 8th and mid table from me

The rest I stand by too. Not sure what your getting at to be honest. My expectation has dwindled the more I've watched us under Koeman. But the posts you've brought up are random ones where I've tried to justify my negativity toward Koeman.
