Ronald Koeman discussion

Is the last 11 games the last two months?

We've been nowhere near good enough of late.

The big thing for me is the fallacy the defence was sorted out. That's been blown apart in the last few games. As far as I'm concerned Koeman has had minimum influence in this club from a coaching perspective. We're still atrocious in that back four, and he's actually taken the potency away from our attacking game.

But if he has taken the potency away from our attacking game then that's not 'minimum influence' ? That is a fair bit of influence, no?

Or do you really wanna say he has only had a negative influence but didn't want to put it so clearly? ;)

The people who wanted Martinez sacked are the ones making excuses about Koeman...

You just need to read a couple of posts from those pointing out 6th place blah blah blah

They havent seen the fixture list coming up...

The sacking of Martinez was the correct decision! It's the people who defended Martinez to the death and who have the knives out for Koeman at the slightest slip up that really get on my nerves!Yeah we had an off day and got hammered by Chelsea the best team in the league at the moment.Day's like that happen in football.Davek and you seem to think that we have a defensive issue all of a sudden when before yesterday our defensive stats were sound.Granted we were still letting in the odd soft goal here and there but the facts are that under the last manager this team forget how to defend. The stats will verify that for you.Really im just looking forward to see how we respond to this because we are in a very strong position in the league.I also don't think it's fair to make any conclusion about Koeman until he ships players out and gets his own players in.It was a bad day at the office but we move on to the next one.In Koeman We Trust.

I wonder how we would do with Gana and Lukaku missing for 6 games...

What tactical 'masterstrokes' he would excite us with...

Swansea
Southampton
United
Watford
Arsenal
Liverpool
Leicester

Happy Christmas

It takes time to undo the old habits and drillings. The current coup of players are mentally weak and are easy to lose concentration. We shall see I think this time next year the team will start to be a Koeman team after he signed 6/7 new players.

i wouldn't disagree, I think in the next window we will start to see what type of players he wants, but also what age group we are looking at.
If we start to look at 27+ I will be concerned as simply that is a short term vision and not something I would be overly happy with.....unless we won something with it:)

What "form"?

Our current "form", that's what "form".

You look at the "current form" indicators in newspapers and they are all based on the last six results.

I am willing to bet the points gleaned from our last six fixtures has us rooted right among the dead men, if not actually in the bottom three.

People need to stop blaming Martinez and giving Koeman a free ride.

He needs to work with what he has in the here and now, especially as there is absolutely nowt to indicare January is going to be much better than the summer window, and at the moment he is doing an awful job.

How can you expect a team to do well throughout 12 months. Consistently. There will be period when teams are not doing well. The only teams that will be consistently are those teams that are in the title race.

Not giving Koeman a free ride. Look at the table in May and I will have a preliminary judgement. He inherited a squad finished in the bottom half two seasons in a row and some people are expecting he fixes things by now. Did he just spend £100m in the summer? Amazing is it people now raise expectation because he is earning loads of salary?

I just dont think Koeman is a good manager...ive said it before we hired him...his CV is nothing special at all, i dont see his long ball football exciting and he is sacked within 2-3 years everywhere.

If we had appointed some bloke from Paraguay then id be more open minded as i wouldnt have any clue about him...Koeman is a world class former player morphed into Gary Megson.

Would Gary Megson get your backing?

Yes he got points on the board...but we should have had more points...burnley/palace etc and now this drubbing 5pts /18...thats a relegation run.

Look at the next 7 games, we will sink to midtable...

Martinez was sacked and 5pts /18 for him would have dogs abuse on here after the result and performance yesterday.

Koeman has got Bolasie (lol) Stek (lol) valencia (lol) Gueye and Williams in....i wonder how we would have done if Martinez had Gueye and Williams in his side + £30mil odd to spend like Koeman has had.

My bet is that Martinez would hsve finished 9th/10th at least (a couple of positions higher last season) which i think is reasonable.

Koeman will do lucky to finish in that position.

Do you think this squad is any better than mid table? Honestly?

Martinez got the sack. 75 PL games played. Koeman, with a negative net spend, has 11 games won 5 and people are questioning him. See the difference?

Not making excuse for RK. But seriously show off the knieve after 11 games? Why not wait till May at least and look at the table.

@Cork Evertonian btw i agree martinez should have been fired...im just stating that if he had added gueye/williams + £30mil last season we would be looking far better than where koeman will get us this season.

How many pts in the next 8 games (to the halfway point) do you expect...and how many points would you be so annoyed by that you would want him sacked.

He wont get 10pts.

I was one of RM's biggest supporters for a long time.

I'm also pointing out that we're 6th after 11 games. Yesterday was unacceptable, I don't think anybody isn't saying that.
