Ronald Koeman discussion

Do you think this squad is any better than mid table? Honestly?

Ive been saying for 12months that it isnt...

Martinez sacked (correctly) for finishing mid-table 11th (assuming we would have beaten norwich).

If he had Gueye and Williams + £30mil Koeman has spent i think he would have finished 9th with a plan to play a certain attacking style.

Lets see if Koeman can achieve this placing and what his plan is cos its boring so far.

I was one of RM's biggest supporters for a long time.

I'm also pointing out that we're 6th after 11 games. Yesterday was unacceptable, I don't think anybody isn't saying that.

I predict alot of people will change their minds at the halfway point...we will beat swansea, but then look who we have.

We could see more rugby scores.

Indeed.

And the term used in those instances is "being in bad form".

Which totally sums up what Everton have been mired in since we beat Boro in mid September.

Bad form.

Which is what @davek said in the first place.

How many pts will be get in the next 8 games do you reckon? im going with 10pts

How many pts in the next 8 games (to the halfway point) do you expect...and how many points would you be so annoyed by that you would want him sacked.

He wont get 10pts.

I don't buy this so called harder or easier fixture period. You thought RM would turn it around last year with the easy fixture period but he didn't.

Just take it game by game. Winning every PL team get you 3 points. They are equal.

Sacked?...wow no. I will wait till May to form a preliminary judgement.

Not sure if this was new thread worthy but think back to 3 years ago, we had a decent start under Martinez but it wasn't just the football that was a breath of fresh air the atmosphere around the club going away was great and so were home games...

It doesn't feel like a new era at all.

That's because the football is mainly awful

Great point.

For all his faults, Bobby gave off the impression he absolutely loved being here and had a plan to establish us back among the elite with a positive attitude on the pitch with the players he had at his disposal and a couple of inspired loans and one major signing plus a youth policy to build us up in the long term.

He talked the club up at every opportunity and it really enthused the fanbase in a way the new owner and manager have never even tried to do thus far.

It is nowt short of a tragedy the wheels came off in the second half of last season, but for one brief, magical season three years ago younger Blues got a glimpse of what Everton could be and us old timers were reminded of how great we had been.

God, I miss Bobby Martinez and the 2013/14 season :(
