Ronald Koeman discussion

So the players are capable of playing good football and getting a 72 point total?

No, because they've aged 3 years and football has moved on.

By your logic, we should put out Southall, Ratcliffe, Gray and co., because they once won a league.

Don't forget the current manager which is sort of my point

This squad is capable of good football, Koeman just can't get it out of them

If they are capable, we couldn't Martinez do it the last 2 years?

Maybe, just maybe, the first season was a fluke?

Or maybe just maybe we've had two poor managers back to back

Koeman isn't a poor manager. Led Southampton to 2 consecutive top 7 finishes.

Plus won titles in other countries.

Is he perfect? No. Did he get his tactics wrong yesterday? Yes.

Even the best managers mess up. How many 1-1 draws has Guardiola had at City?

All things considered, our squad is absolutely nowhere near the level of the top 5 and it's up to Moshiri, Walsh & Koeman to sort it out.

Unless they can do that, then honestly what is the point in anything?
We've got some pure lazy uninterested players at this club, Koeman needs to get them out the door asap, screw what ability they have, Rom's not gonna stay here but he would be the only one i'd still keep regardless of his laziness but we need almost a total overhall of the midfield, only Gueye shows any desire or passion and will to win, that game yesterday was the laziest performance i've ever seen from a midfield

I think the travails of this squad are beginning to illustrate what we all knew. If we are serious about troubling the top spots we need to start spending money to buy proven quality players . You can't do it on the cheap . Leicester is the exception that proves the rule.
This squad is a mid table squad assembled over the years on a tight budget, too many players are inconsistent or still potential. We need to stop relying on potential. It won't happen overnight but if this new regime is serious about its intent they need to start showing it ,beginning with the upcoming window. I was going to say talk is cheap ,but they don't even do that.
