Essentially what Koeman has said is totally correct. It just didn't need to have been said.
I'm sorry, but is what he said incorrect in any way? God we love moaning. He's not saying he should sign for bloody Middlesbrough is he?
Even after getting skelped 5-0 by Chelsea at the weekend, we're better off now than we were in the last days of Martinez
Don't disagree with what he has said but I think it was just unnecessary. That's all there is to it really.
Unnecessary and ill-advised.
I'm very much pro-RK, and for the most part quite like his bluntness, but there was no need to even answer a question like that at this stage of the season. I expect there is a translation issue here as well but it does come across as quite belittling.
Big difference with Rooney is that we couldn't produce cash to invest in the squad and match his ambition. Now we, apparently, can. This manager is shaping up to be an arrogant get who is paid a kings ransom and insults us.what is actually wrong with that?
not exactly going places right now are we, or have been for a long time now. Same as the whole rooney thing was held against him for leaving us, failing to remember our lowest points total in 100 years the season he left.
Think if we stop being so pig headed and singing grand old team to ourselves every day to make us feel better, would a 25 goals a season striker in stoke be seen as too big for the club? Or west brom? Or southampton? Or west ham (payet right now)?
To be perfectly honest, i don't want to be spoon fed niceties by the club, manager, owner or captain. I want to be told how it is, and not be led down a path. If it means Koeman talking up a sale of rom then fine,k we all know he is leaving at some point anyway.
He just took his kecks down and shat all over us mate. THATS what's wrong with it.He was asked a question and answered it truthfully ,it's slightly dispiriting but it's where we are and have been for 30odd years. What doesn't he 'get'? , that we like having our egos massaged and being told we are a phenomenal club a giant on the world stage when we clearly are not.
We all know that Lukaku will move on to better things anyway, but at least he will have given us more time and goals than 'superblue' Rooney when he departs.
Our fans are ace, I love us. No one does a complete and utter non-scandal like we do.
Quite belitiling? this is a fella that has won titles as a player and a manager, a manager at a "smaller club" finished above us in his 2 seasons in england, a manager that has played for Barcelona, Ajax and one of the best Netherlands teams in history.
You think he views Everton, a team that has won 1 FA cup in 28 years and 0 trophies in 21 years as a big enough club for a player of Romelu Lukaku's calibre.
Ron is a realist, his ceiling is very high and at the moment we are on the carpet!
