Ronald Koeman discussion

Are you seriously okay with the manager talking us down in such a manner mate?

I've been backing Koeman thus far, but I'm sorry I can't argue this away

It's poor form from him

I don't want him gone or anything like that, but I still think this is a considerable blunder
Roy Keane yesterday: pathetic Everton trophy haul for a brilliant club

Ronald Koeman today: good players can do better than Everton.

...I know which one I think is more insulting.

He just took his kecks down and shat all over us mate. THATS what's wrong with it.

That was Moyes-esque when he went to OT. If Moyes gets pilloried for it, so does Koeman. That's consistency.

how would you respond to being asked about Lukaku by the media then?

By the way it is 100% that he is off in the summer, Koeman has agreed with Rom to give him a year , boost his goal tally and then the big boys will be in for you

I think we all know that what Koeman said is true, but it is simply not acceptable for a manager of this club to go round saying that good players would be better off leaving us. Is it any wonder we can't attract players like Witsel if the manager is telling people his international team mate is too good to be playing for us at his peak? It's a monumental blunder in my book, particularly at a time when the team he gets paid far too handsomely to manage is playing like a bunch of gutless, poorly coached, unfit schoolkids.

Sorry mate, I can't defend those comments

There is no justification in my opinion

How on Earth are we supposed to attract players when the manager is talking the club down in such a manner?

He needs to apologise

If Moyes or Martinez had said something similar, they'd've been eviscerated

Success mate, that is how we are supposed to attract players. Right now we have none, and even in a patch of form which is concerning that we need to address in a fortnight.

He isn't talking the club down, reality does that for us. Winning nothing in 21 years? Two mid table finishes in a row? Selling our best players to bigger clubs every season? What else does this look like in all honesty? A neutral would confirm the same thing, we look like we sell to buy, a stepping stone to the top of the league and despite a 'billionaire' owner nothing has changed.

So yeah, how is he talking the club down? We have gone nowhere for so long and even when it appears we are turning a corner we fall back into the same pattern again in regards to selling our best players.

Big difference with Rooney is that we couldn't produce cash to invest in the squad and match his ambition. Now we, apparently, can. This manager is shaping up to be an arrogant get who is paid a kings ransom and insults us.

Of course Koeman is arrogant, the fact we went out of our way to get him must be an ego booster in itself. Plus the wages to attract him here? Well what does that tell you about the standing of the club? We have to overpay a manager to come here?

you said yourself it looks like the same old situation at the club, so saying we have the money to invest and then we don't? Hell even from a neutral perspective, we have been taken over, sold our best young talent (again) not signed anyone of note and aren't lighting the league up (yet again).

Genuinely, take a step back for a second, how would you view the club? especially over 21 years? There is nothing here to talk up right now, we are what we have become, a mid table club who just turns up every season. We are paying Koeman to change that so if he does, i am sure he will be talking us up a hell of a lot more. Otherwise right now we either didn't back him in the summer, or we failed to bring quite a few players in. Either way, hardly matching any ambition he has?

To be honest what difference does it make what he says to the media? Lukaku is going to leave whether he says that or not, as soon as his valuation is met he's off and most of us know and accept it. It's not as if Lukaku is going to be blagged into staying for another 5 years if the manager starts saying we're aiming to win the Champions League. The end result is the player will leave, regardless.

Anyone thought he might actually be trying to get more fire into Lukaku's belly?

Comparing his ability to PK. Pushing him in the direction of greatness.

Lukaku surely needs to be bagging 25 goals in the league for a 'big move' 25 goals from him could get Koeman European football perhaps.

I dont particularly want him to talk us up, just keep his grid shut if he only has words to talk us down.

Simple as that.

Well that escalated quickly. Think disrespectful and arrogant is a bit wide of the mark. Perhaps a bit too honest. I'm sure moshiri will have a word in his shell like. Roms was always going anyway, obvious it was always a give us one more season job. What I found more Interesting is whether he backs up his comments about the u23's with game time. Davies and Holgate are musts for me against Swansea. We should still have enough to beat them.

Really isn't hard is it?
For him it seems to be the hardest thing in the world.

I do hope there's someone at the club capable of reining this feller in because he's going to do more of this...it's in his DNA.

...oh, btw, some people thought I was being arsey about closing down his twitter account so he doesn't embarrass us...yes, and....?
