In this Lineker interview he better not...

talk about Barcelona as his destination
say our players will need to go elsewhere to fulfil their potential
claim defensive solidity after that humiliation last time out
state that our ambition should be to challenge for a EL qualification
have a dig at Barkley again
Well he has failed without us even seeing it then because I guarantee 2 of those at least will be talked about

am hoping we get a better understanding of him and if he cares about everton at all, should be at least less soundbitey and we will be able judge him from a proper interview rather than reading bits and pieces

I really hope that's true.

I'd like him to start showing some warmth about Everton and that he feels honoured to be chosen as our manager. I dont get that impression at the minute.

we will see, am willing to give him a chance...comes across as the iceman at the moment, maybe his brother is the friendly one lol

He's our first superstar...according to an Iranian-British businessman who knew nothing about Everton until about 12 months ago.
Exactly, we are not worthy of his presence and he is too good for us, don't worry once he goes to Barcelona we will end up with Nigel Adkins or somebody of that ilk

Controversial opinion maybe but i feel there are two types of managers these days. Those who know that they are fortunate to manage Everton and those who will feel Everton are fortunate to be managed by them. I think it's fair to say both Moyes and Martinez knew they were very lucky boys to have this job. Moyes began to believe his own hype towards the end but for most part he bought into the club, like Roberto did and we love that! Managers that just seem to get it, get why we're a special club. Sadly those manager rarely win things. The ruthless managers who see themselves as main attraction generally win leagues and trophies. Koeman has no emotional attachment to us and as annoying as that is does he need to? He no doubt feels that we are very lucky to have him in charge but If he wins us trophies or gets us champions league does that matter? That's gotta be better than a manager who, yes takes the time to learn the tea lady's first name but doesn't understand how to organise a defence?

In the past 7 games we've won one and suffered a mauling that the rest of the country have only just stopped cringing about on our behalf. The season so far has been played for the most part with sterile football.

I'm not sure we should feel lucky to have that.

Barkley will no doubt crop up

How has the club allowed this grenade without a pin to be interviewed at this time?

The club appears to lack any kind of media policy - any kind of 'do and don't discuss' training to help players/managers evade traps and avoid controversy/setting themselves up for a fall.

Quite why we - as a club - seem to allow players and managers to consistently put themselves in the crosshairs of largely negative-towards-Everton media, and dooming themselves to misinterpretation and the chagrin of the fan base is beyond me.

There are former media professionals in the market place who specialise in 'media training' for big organisations - in my opinion, Everton should be employing one of them rather sharpish before things go any further in the wrong direction.

An utter walloper.

He's the type who if Everton ever challenged for honours again would be spewing out bile at every opportunity. He's the worst kind of two faced hypocritical*, patronising Kopite hack there is...oh, and that book he wrote about Liverpool's collapse season 'They dared to dream' or some such cobblers is the most embarrassing and comical piece of English language writing published in the past 5 years.

*currently working on Radio Murdoch after having made a big song and dance about The Times not giving prominent front page coverage to the verdict on the 96.

Don't let the facts get in the way of your rant, Tony Barrett had nothing to do with the book you mentioned, I know this as he's a relative. I had to google it and it was a fella called Paul Tomkins.
By Radio Murdoch, you mean TalkSport? Don't think hes working for them. You sure your not getting him confused with the utter melt Tony Evans, ex football editor of the Times? Best get facts right before you do a character assassination.
