Ronald Koeman discussion

Why mate?

That's so snobbish. We finished 11th for two years, stop making out we're a massive club that should be competing for the title.

We ain't anymore. We all want to be back there, but small steps.

It is a massive 2 games. Will Mosh pull the trigger? No chance.

Say we lose to the rs, Arsenal and Leicester mate

We'd be 6 points worse off than at this point last season after 18 games
We will have taken 7 points out of the last 13 games (currently we have taken 7 from the last 10 games)
We would be on target to achieve about 41/42 pooints for the season at near enough the half way point

Our form guide will read LLDDLWLDLDLLLL

If that was the record of any manager in the league do you not think the pressure on them to be sacked would be justified?

Why? The players will down tools on the next manager and the next one after that and that,s the problem.

There is no loyality left in the game except what the fans bring every week till that ebbs away.
So maybe need to bring a guy who will have a good relations with them? Koeman doesn't look like a good man manager.

He can have my backing, but he need to show he deserve his money. If you're a manager you need to try to improve players you have at your disposal and start rebuilding job based on your best players. Yet Koeman made us hate all of our players and we don't have any regrets to sell everyone bar Gueye. That's not the way forward as you need to trust people who works for you. If there's no chemistry at all, that's a recipe for failure.
Good point mate

we where actually 2 points below where we where at last season after 15 games mate and got 4 from our next 3 games, our next three are against Arsenal and the rs at Goodison then Leicester away, given our current form and way the players look, very real possibility we will get nothing out those 3 games leaving us 6 points worse off after 18 games than last season, thats a sobering thought
Not much difference in goals conceeded either, and we at least were scoring and had a decent cup run in progress.

Runs like that run at Southampton aren't acceptable at Everton tho.

I don't want him sacked but he's in a serious enough predicament now.

If arsenal beat us badly and then as expected, we lose to the RS, then Goodison will be toxic and moshiri will probably pull the trigger. That's how I see it. It's 2 massive games.

You know what, Tim.

These next two fixtures are taking on the mantle of the two coming down the pike in the week following the game after which Bobby should have been fired.....ironically after we stole a point from Koeman's Saints at Goodison last season.

Then we had two massive games looming and we had all more or less accepted it was going to be the week from hell.

At the Pit on the Wednesday and at Wembley for the semi final :(

But "nothing" was supposed to be the same

And yet here we are, eight months later and enjoying Christmas as much as the average turkey :pint2:

Q
This time next year we will be laughing at suggestions to get rid of him, he will mould the team in his vision and it will be far better than this.

Why? What about anything how we are playing makes you think is to be successful? The football we play is horrible. He wants us to be a long ball team(ok, that's fine) with Lukaku as the focal point. Think about that for a minute.

If we get say 1 point or less from. our next 3 then he's going to go. I don't want him to go because the the gutless squad will have got their wish again. They will be one hundred percent to blame. But in that situation there is no other option. I detest this squad and modern footballers in general.

He needs a couple of windows to sign players capable of playing the way he wants us to, as, due to the failings of others, he wasn't able to get his players in. We're struggling going forward especially as Barkley, Mirallas, Deulofeu, Bolasie and Lennon aren't really the calibre of player we need if we want to break into the top 4. Only one of them was a Koeman signing who, to be fair, has been the best of that bunch.

We have to simply wait for January now and hope the board are willing to back him. I'm sure they will. In the meantime I also wouldn't bet against him stopping the rot and us putting a run together and getting 6th/7th this season as he did at Southampton, which would be a great start.

Disappointed with the first half of the season, but not remotely concerned for the future so far.

The players have the power mate thats my point.
That is a good point. And I think the only recipe is to bring someone more likeable, commited and passionate. As Leicester showed, all you need to have is high morale, team spirit and will of fight. And that is the role of manager - make them believe.
