TJ, the fact that we are actually doing all this massively behind closed doors is amazing mate.

It's a hard thing for some blues to grasp that it's Everton picking the best available here and not going for the options that the press say we have.

i'm really looking forward to the future, how some idiots in the everton forum are saying "this is dragging", "we're showing no ambition", "Moshiri hasn't done anything yet" is beyond me. Even with just paper gossip he's been more active in the 3 weeks since the season ended than bill has been for about 10 years.

Take nothing away from kenwright, any businessman/woman worth their salt coming in to "replace" him would have seemed amazing in comparison, but our intent is definitely there to go places that i've never experienced in my 20 years following the blues.

The one thing we ought not to let sway our opinion when it comes to Koeman vs Emery is results against the RS. Emery is known for prioritising European competition over the league. Obviously, if we weren't able to at least get top four, a European trophy would be great but, for me at least, I want that feelgood feeling every weekend, even if it means the occasional blip. That's why, of the two, I would prefer Koeman.

Given the nature of the Spanish league, that is hardly a stick to beat him with!

And where did he finish each year in the Spanish league?

Dutch Moyes is harsh. He's won back to back at Old Trafford, Moyes barely managed that when Old Trafford was his home ground? He won at Stamford Bridge and came back from 2-0 down to Liverpool to win 3-2 in the second half. He joined and instantly lost his best players and then had a good season and has improved upon it last season.

Isn't the point that Koeman has done that with Southampton who are generally a bit crap? Rather than Moyes getting Everton where we should be?

Koeman is decent however he works with a set up at Southampton that was put in place for him.

Southampton were 8th when Koeman took over and he has had them in 7th and 6th.

Everton had finished in the top 10 once since 1989 when Moyes took over and we averaged 6th once he'd stabilised the club.

Koeman would tighten the defence, be more pragmatic, display better game management skills and very quickly return us to 6th-7th. Whether he gets us higher than that is doubtful, but of course that could be due to other factors than just his management ability. We might spend £100m on new players when others are throwing £200m+ at it, so while we have a stronger squad we have become weaker relative to our peers.

okay without losing all credibility, Been told by a few reliable people its koeman not emery, mates in places attached to the club apparently our deal is a lot better than southampton and he was and is still our main target

Do you think it's fair to compare Moyes last 2 seasons with his squad to Koemans first 2 seasons at Southampton, a squad that lost 5 of its best players from the previous regime.

And Laudrup was binned through his second season for not progressing. Koeman has.
