Ross Barkley

Reserves for a few weeks for me, if Naismith is fit.

What a joke this statement is.
We were completely impotent as an attacking force until he came on last night.
And yes, we were still [Poor language removed], but FFS at least the lad tried something.

We are completely lacking any spontaneity this season and teams have us figured.
I for one am happy Ross came on and at least had a crack, because apart from Besic and Barkley we had
no desire or tenacity about our play whatsoever. Yes they are raw and prone to making mistakes, but if we keep going
through the motions in attack we are never going to score enough to offset our terrible defending at the moment.

It genuinely looks as though the players have run out of ideas.

Agree. He doesn't seem to track back when he loses the ball. His explosiveness and speed is amazing but when he doesn't track back as a centermid, he's providing stress to the teammates defending

Ross I think needs to realise that it's not "just going to happen".

He will need to work really hard on and off the ball. Not just when on.

His form is not where it should be at the moment and he could be so much better if he put more in off the ball.

All the best players in the world do it.

Aguero. Messi. Ronaldo. Rat face. Naismith.

Looked his best for ages yesterday when he came on. Been hard for him getting injured for as long as he did when he did and everyone expecting him to save our season when he returned. Think we need to lay off him a bit, he is still a kid and we expect him to be Messi/Ronaldo in every game.

Shows how negative martinez has been this season by leaving him on the bench. Anyone with 2 sets of eyes could see this game was tailor made for him with the amount of space that he could run into. Apparently the guy on 60k a week who is brave and not moyes like didn't and stuck hibbo in the side instead...

Or the other way you could look at it is he didnt want an out of form flair player who has lacked the defensive discipline so far put in against some of the most powerful midfielders in the league. Eto'o was showing good discipline when out of possesion to make up a man in midfield and shadowed fernando

All the coaching experts on here, when Ross doesn't score a hatty!!!

Maybe thats the key....postmen, milkmen, students, office monkeys coaching him to turn him into a white scouse Pele!!!

Barkley drove at them yesterday when he came on. Even if he couldn't provide the final ball he still gave them something to worry about and put them on the back foot.

That's not the martinez thinking mate, effectively there your suggesting martinez took the defensive approach and thus a moyes safety first approach.

Or he isn't yet fit and Martinez is trying to figure how to use him best.

As for playing Hibbert, we moan when he isn't tactically flexible so we can't moan when he shakes things up.

Not true. Messi and Ronaldo never track back or press the ball.
