Still hearing complete rubbish from fans in the crowd..

"Do sutin Ross"

Ross tries and losses the ball -

Same Bloke "Ahhhh Ross....play it simple"....

Maybe if he had a good game occasionally and showed a bit more interest in the game then people would be a bit more encouraging?

There is plenty of goodwill towards him from the stands anyway, so it's a moot point.

The fans are doing my head in regarding this lad.

The main situation were he actualy got booed was when he tried to take a couple of lads on, he was actually trying to make something happen and he got booed for it. Next time he got the ball what did he do? Pass it sideways like every other player in blue.

Felt a bit sorry for him last night he looked scared to death. I don't think he's got it in his makeup to be a 2nd striker so needs to improve dramatically when the opposition have the ball in order to become a midfielder. I hate seeing any everton player get booed but the 1 thing the crowd at Goodison won't tolerate is a lack of effort. Unfortunately ross is guilty of this at the moment and the crowd turned against him big time last night

As if he is not trying, that is comedy that.

He is void of confidence, might have something to do with arl fella's foaming at the mouth because he aint scored 3 a game.

Ross Barkley is afraid of his own shadow at the moment, playing in a team full of fear. He's afraid to do what comes naturally in case he makes a mistake, and has been playing like this for weeks. He's getting worse not better, for this I lay the blame firmly at the feet of Martinez, who should have given him some bench time weeks ago to give him a breather. His confidence is completely shot, and it wont improve until Goodison is a happier place.

I don't care what anyone says, the reason for Barkley's performances is the fans. Boos before the ball even got to him, its a joke and thankfully commentators are starting to pick up on how we are killing any sort of confidence the lad had. Must be impossible to play without fear when 40k fans are waiting for your next mistake to get right on your back. If it continues this way, he's better off without us and deserves a club with fans who will support him into what he'll inevitably become.

He's hiding, not wanting the ball because he is scared to upset impatient bellends in the stands who instead of supporting their team and helping them win would rather boo, in fact that's the only time the ground makes any sort of noise. Embarrassing.

I've said it before, he is 21, an Evertonian, he's not gonna be Messi every game. Now get off his backs, and start supporting not only him, but the whole team. We're ruining one of the best English talents around game by game, if you can't see that then football isn't for you.

People expect too much from him. As soon as he gets it, everyone is on the edge of their seat expecting big things. If he doesn't take 3 people on and score then a large portion of the crowd grown in disappointment.

It's been well documented in the media by the England manager, amongst others, that he can often lose the ball trying things. I think he's very conscious of this and when he tries a few things and they don't come off, his next few touches will be him playing the simple ball. Which in itself seems to disappoint a large portion of the crowd.

He had a spell nearer the end last night when he dropped deeper and got on the ball more, but further back in the play. He looked like he was growing in confidence a bit during this period, but again anywhere around the area people expected him to shoot.

Having said that, the least he could do is put the effort in off the ball.

He did get on the ball more towards the end, but every pass was a sideways 3 yarder. Smacked of someone terrified to make a mistake.

The problem with the crowd is that everyone is so desperate for him to be as good as we know he can be, that the frustration is boiling over at the moment, and it's definitely affecting his confidence.

People really need to get behind him, sing his name, anything we can do to boost him up. Problem is, getting 40,000 people (all of whom are understandably not in the best mental place at the moment regarding Everton) to do that is nigh on impossible.
