He was excellent tonight, kept the ball superbly on a dump of a pitch. Shame there was nothing on the wings to complement him.

Was ok on the ball, slight heavy touch now and again and occasionally waited to long to pass but he kept going and at least he looks to have a bit of confidence back getting shots off again.

Just needs to close down his nearest man when we're not in possesion

Avoiding the fume so just came directly here to say he was terrific tonight. His best performance in a long time. Supremely unlucky that his two chances hit the post- on any other night etc etc etc.
But out of the horrific performance he came out of it looking really good.
let's hope he keeps it up for the rest of the season, comes out of his 2nd season slump.

He played really well but defensively he's still awful. For most of the game he played like a 2nd striker and Barry another centerback leaving McCarthy alone in the middle. I don't know if that's his fault or what he was told but for Barkley to improve we need someone who can improve the defensive side of his game.
