Player Valuation: £40m
Not for me like I said early he's grew up as an attacking midfielderRoss Barkley is a number 10, not a number 8.
And done All his best work from a deeper position

I think that's what I would be aiming for too in around the same time i.e two summer windows but I would cash in on McCarthy and plays Besic with Ledson his backup....................................New Keeper
Coleman............Stones.........Galloway?......Garbutt
...........................Barkley......McCarthy/Besic
New Winger.................Playmaker.............New Winger
.....................................Lukaku
In 15months we will be left with something like this.

However next season we just need two wingers and leave Barkley further forward.
We would have 4; Besic, Gibson, Ledson and Barkley. Why cash in on McCarthy? We need 4 centre midfielders; McCarthy, Besic, Barkley, Ledson.
Then 2 wingers + a playmaker + keeper+centre back.
Remove 5+ deadwood and theres a big pot there for salaries for 2 of the above + howard off and his salary covers another keeper. Mirallas again off pays for another player...
If you see what I mean? 4 players could be brought in quite easily with some decisiveness and we should have £20mil as a starting point.
We played our best in a long time against newcastle. Good decision to go back to that teamGood game on Thursday. Promptly dropped today for Kone of all people.
It just seems a bit daft to drop the only good player we had on Thursday mate.We played our best in a long time against newcastle. Good decision to go back to that team
He was Ok on the ball but his positioning off it was poor and he makes no effort to press his nearest man. Use him off the bench against tired legs and he'll have some joy todayIt just seems a bit daft to drop the only good player we had on Thursday mate.
We would have 4; Besic, Gibson, Ledson and Barkley.
I would cash in on McCarthy so we could use the money to fund a No10.
McCarthy's wages are high and around 26 is probably when we should look to sell to maximize resale value.
That way we can continue to improve the quality of the team while making a profit to be put towards a stadium.
We need to start thinking long term because we aren't going to get top 4 next season and we don't have a route via Europa either.
No one would buy him plus Gibson offers us something different to McCarthy and Besic. We also have Osman and Baines that can play there. We don't need such a large squad. Liverpool put out mainly the same team every week. Even for us Lukaku and Jags play every game. We're rotating players to give them game time and frankly I would prefer to get our first team right and play them every week to allow them to build an understanding with each other.I'd be selling Gibson if he can stay fit till summer. He wont be fit next season looking at his entire career to date so we'd be left with three players there and a crock. Wouldn't sell McCarthy, hes class.
I thought he was rubbish. No effort at all. Barely tracked back to defend either...Thought he played really well in kiev.a few times keeping possession in and around the box with some great touches.and looking hungry to actually getting himself on the ball.could that goal v Newcastle have restored his confidence. Let's hope so
Id agree defensively hes a liability but we need him doing the buisness in the oppositions half.i won't be getting carried away after 1 good performance but it was a big improvement in my opinionI thought he was rubbish. No effort at all. Barely tracked back to defend either...
