I was speaking to Wednesday fan yesterday who said he'd been largely shiite there, & yet he'd played 90 mins in every game, so there must be a clause in the loan agreement that means he has to start & not be subbed off.

He's got potential to be a good player if he wants it enough, His attitude apparently isnt the best in the world, He has all the ability, Lets hope he has the right temperament and attitude to go out and apply it.

Tbf it can actually be quite difficult going down a "grade" or two from where you think you belong and performing. Sometimes you get complacent or the physicality can be a little unexpected and it takes time to deal with it. Or it can just be too damn easy...
I can only compare it to my own massively sucessful cricket career (I know different sport...). Everytime one of our A graders (incl myself) dropped down because they were unavailable or whatever, they/we never succeeded. Except one guy scored 270 in a 40 over match but... yeah that's a different story.

The counter argument to that of course is that if he was any good, he'd make a difference to their team.
In the same way that James Wallace has made a massive difference to Tranmere's team. Leaving Everton Reserves, going to Tranmere, made captain and lynchpin of the side, and now one of their most important players as they chase promotion. He's one of the big reasons they are doing so well.
I am sure Barkley does have ability and potential, but let's not dismiss what is a Championship side playing in front of 25,000+ each week as 'nothing' and 'below Barkley's talents'.

I base my argument on having seen Sheff Utd (we're talking 3 years ago) play 8 times, who were, at the time, better than Sheff Weds. And even they were poor positionally, lacked players with movement and intelligence, and of course that extra bit of class. When I say they're not on the same level, its because I imagine its very difficult to play with people not on the same wavelength as yourself, for example, they don't make the runs or passes you expect, and you would certainly struggle to fit in.
If he was at a 'Wigan' however, their lads can actually play football. He'd be with people who he could learn from (at the very least attitude wise), and he'd no doubt work harder as a result.
