Barkley will be Osman's eventual replacement in his current CM role IMO. Iv ****ged ossie over the years but this season in particular in that CM role has been brilliant. It's no real suprise he's not getting playing time.

The team ain't exactly helping either, not since early season have we put any games to bed allowing to take off ossie or even made it easy to get players on the pitch, low risk... Games always seem to be too tight.

Even if the ability is there with Barkley, I doubt very much mentality he's ready for high tension games.

If Moyes is waiting for the perfect game then he's never gonna play. He needs to just throw him in at some point and see if he sinks or swims.

He was forced to do that with Duffy, and Duffy was so good in those 4 games he ****ing walked, not swam.

Duffy/Barkley hopefully will both play v Cheltenham and show why they deserve a chance in the first team.

It's not about what's best for Ross Barkley tho mate...it's what's best for Everton fc and the best possible way of us getting European football.

Ross swims ok that's great...Ross sinks it effects our league possistion.

Is he more of a risk than Hitzlsperger though?

Seriously, that guy has been out with a serious injury. We sign him at short notice and hes been thrown in when we've needed it.

Dont get me wrong hes done ok. He is tiring towards the 70 minute mark though. So with todays team news who replaces him at 70mins? Oviedo..... Is Oviedo not a risk too?

Id say they are all risks in a way because I dont see Either Hitzlsperger, Oviedo or Barkley as first team starters yet. What I do see is a young player who looks intelligent neat and hungry to play.... But continues to be overlooked when first teamers are out.

Good shout about Ozzie though. Hes become our main midfielder but it taken him 10 years to get to this level. Eventually he we need replacing sooner rather than later. Hopefully cue Ross Barkley.

Tend to agree with hitz/Barkley shout... Is hitz less of a risk? Prob not IMO but I tend to look at it that moyes know's more than me so he must be making his decisions for a reason.

I see your point tho...

If Ross swims our league position improves, if he sits on the bench before signing for Man U and lighting up the Prem we lose out.

Short term sure, its easy to say you play your best players a smuch as possible. But long term you have to balance that out with bringing through the youth we have to depend on to either make up our squad or be sold to get money to bring in players, therefor improving our league positions in future seasons.

United fans already have a thread on him from 3 years ago which has been updated recently. They're all commenting on his quality and are sure hes a definate purchase in the future.
 
It's frustrating the hell out of me that he's not considered no matter how many injuries. I'm starting to think it's a mental thing with Ross not an ability issue, he needs games though to get his confidence to a level where he believes in himself and he's not getting that opportunity.
 

his losing possession looked worse because everyone was pushed forward trying to get an equalizer, he looked ok and had a crack on goal, he'll be a good player behind the striker

Look I'm as big a Barkley fan as anyone but just as we laud him when he comes on and shows a handful of neat touches we also have to admit days like this will happen. As far as I remember he didnt do anything positive at all and gave the ball away poorly twice.
