Ross Barkley

And you see him day and day out? Moyes knows better than both of us, he generally gets the best out of players doesn't he? Trust his judgement.

Nope, but I've seen enough of him at Wednesday. There are other players around his age in the Prem doing well with half of his talent. Sterling for the RS pops to mind.

Based on what? Nothing but hype!

Stop putting so much pressure on the lad, let him grow and learn from his mistakes out on loan at a Championship club.

He currently expects far too much time on the ball, his decision making isn't the best, and he has a lot to learn from a defensive perspective. The Premiership is very unforgiving and you more often than not get punished for making these type of mistakes.

This obsession with playing him before he is ready is nothing but counter-productive.

I'd say based on ability, and what he's shown at Wednesday.

Pressure? I'm pretty sure he doesn't read what I'm posting....... And like I've just mentioned, there've been plenty of other players his age who've done well in the Premiership.

Everyone is expecting a seasoned premier league playmaker/enforcer. Hes 19 and has talent beyond his years.

He needs to get more of these games under his belt.

Lets all be honest is he likely to make that mistake again???.....

No lesson learnt.... Hes actually became a better player today for that mistake!

I don't think anyone's expecting him to be an enforcer. What he brings is a level of class we haven't had since Arteta left. He's a playmaker. We could start him and if he's not doing well, that's what substitutions are for.

So ultimately you're basing you're opinion on his performances for Sheffield Wednesday... in the Championship, a place where you get more time on the ball and you aren't punished as much for your mistakes. And you're acting like he took the Championship by storm, when he really didn't, he had some good and some bad games against differing opposition.

And there have been plenty of other major names in the Premier League who didn't break through until their early 20's! But nobody is arsed about other Premier League players, certainly not players who play in different positions. We are talking about Ross Barkley's current ability and level of development!

I dread to think what has to happen before you realise that he is still learning and developing, and that he isn't ready for the Premier League just yet!

What I mean by playmaker/enforcer is someone who controls the tempo of the game. Thats what I think he'll turn out like

Well I'd rather he made those mistakes at another club, in a league that is more forgiving, rather than have Barkley take up the place of a senior player who is more experienced and less likely to make such mistakes.

What about Distin vs The shi*e at Wembley? Experience means nothing!

Yep, an utterly gash team that he was singlehandedly carrying towards the end. The Championship isn't an easy league to play in. Nobody s claiming he's the finished article, but there are a host of Premiership players who aren't as good as he is now.

He'll get better, and he's far from the finished article, but yes I believe he's good enough to start at times.

This in a nutshell. It takes some players longer than others to develop.

Anichebe for example is only just coming in fruitition.
Osman was how old when he broke into the team?
Rodwell has completely flopped under the hype.

Because Piennar doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away? Because Felli doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away?
Because Gibson doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away? Because Hitz doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away?
Because Neville doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away? Because Mirralles doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away? Because Osman doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away? Oh wait, they all do :-)

I can accept you have a differing opinion, but my opinion is he's good enough to play.

You aren't listening to a word any of us have said.

A mistake will affect this lad far more than Pienaar, Gibson, Neville, Osman, any experienced player.

LOLZ. Experience means nothing?

And I'm sorry but Distin makes mistakes like that very infrequently, whereas I have already seen Barkley make similar mistakes in an Everton shirt on a number of different occasions, and I dare say it happened at Sheffield Wednesday as well.

He's still learning and developing, but so what, he's only 19.
