Ross Barkley

Well, then you're an idiot.

Not sure why pointing out that Ross is two footed - and he is also very powerful in the air - makes me an idiot? Just stating that the 'raw material' to make an outstanding player is there (Having watched him at least 6 times this season).

Le Tissier didn't run about, harrying the opposition. He got slated for it in some quarters, but others just marvelled at the magic he conjured up.

Will Barkley be the next enigmatic player of Le Tissier's ilk?

I think if Moyes is unsure about him then we should sell for an awful lot now ...while others think he is worth it. We have had many great hopes and only Rooney fulfilled his promise

Bit unfair that. Rodwell showed glimpses last season before his sending off against the RS and injuries etc. Hopefully he can show it again on a regular basis.

Barkley is 18. He needs time, he's still young enough to learn and I'm sure he's only going to improve. He just needs game time, whether that's for the reserves or the 1st team.

I would absolutely love it if that was the case but unfortunately for Moyes to have one player like that he needs three Phil Neville's, is that too high a price to pay?

Wayne Rooney was a freak when he came through but for me he hasn't become the player I thought he could have been. I think it would help Barkley if every www.coach (myself included) stopped judging him and comparing him with, Rooney, Gerard, Fabregas, Silva or anyone else and we just let the lad play football. It's not like he hasn't got time on his side.

Two things i wouldn't agree with either to be honest. For a lad a who's about 6.1" he isn't as willing to jump as he should be for someone of his height, i'd say he's average to poor for his jumping. Same with Hallam Hope, fairly big lad but isn't willing to jump as he should be, just like Victor Anichebe too.

For his left foot, it's better than most players, but i wouldn't say he uses it enough to say he's good with it.

I'd say that he has more in his locker than Modric because he's two footed.

This is the problem....he ain't fit to lace modric's boots( on the verge of a £30m+ to Madrid) yet you claim he is better! The lads got no ****in chance...

Who said he was better! He has more in his locker means that he has a greater range of basic abilities e.g he is two footed and a really good header of a football. This should mean that he will go on to be an even better player than Modric, as long as he is developed properly, unfortunately something that British football is not renowned for.

For some reason I read 'Le Tissier' as Lie Tie and almost spat my drink everywhere.

Ok noticing he is two footed = not an idiot

hmm...you are trying hard though

Swisso - who is or was the everton scout for the champ manager games (I believe) has just said above the lad doesn't use his left foot enough to be considered good with it. Yet your saying he should be better than modric on the back of being 2 footed?
Think I'll side with the guy who stands in the pissing rain watching youth/ressie games week after week, judging the players every touch, than yours mr PhilBr. Now can I get back to the murray match.
