Ross Barkley

Only at Everton would you find the best young player of his generation and you don't see him actively involved in the first team set up - instead you farm him out to a second-rate side at a lower level to learn his trade at the key part of his development.

He's been mismanaged by Moyes in my view, pure and simple.

Wrong mate - Man Utd does this too. As does Chelsea.

Not bad clubs for Everton to emulate, eh?

Tubey, you should read Mick Rathbone's book, especially the section at the beginning detailing how hard it is for a young player to suddenly be playing in the first team.

I think loaning out Barkley would do him the world of good the championship is a very competitive league and would help him recieve valueable expereince. Look at Danny Welbeck for example Loaned to Preston North End, Loaned out to Sunderland then last season featured a lot more for Manchester united jumping ahead of Berbatov and Hernandez in the pecking order to form a formidale partnership with Wayne Rooney... The difference between his quality of play before the two loans is easy too see which shows just hot vital experience is..

Loaning him out to lower league neanderthals, when he could be benefiting from the direction and coaching of Moyes, Round, and Stubbs.

What do you people have against our coaching set up, is it really that poor ?

Are people deliberately misreading what I'm saying?

I'm not saying he should be the fulcrum of our attack and starting every game - I'm saying he should be given minutes and just generally be around the first team squad.

Giggs, Ronaldo, Messi, Scholes - all technically brilliant, all involved young, all learnt from staying in and around the first team squad constantly and learning.

Barkley is in that bracket of ability.

Vellios, with all respect, isn't. So if it was Vellios to Wednesday, brilliant move. Barkley to Wednesday is nonsensical.

Are any of those players top class, technically gifted footballers (except arguably Danny Murphy)?

Nooope.

That was just from 1 team.

What about the plethora of talent the top teams send out on loan these days?
It's standard affair, Barkley's a top talent but you're just acting like a spoilt brat.
If a Premier league side comes in for him on loan, great, get him over there, if not and the choice is here on the bench with fleeting games or a Championship side with constant action, what's the obvious choice? Yes, obvious!

It didn't do Beckham any harm.

To PL clubs.

If Barkley had gone to Wigan or something I'd probably be in favour of the move.

Now now, no need for a sensible view.

As I said earlier, speaking to people who have seen more of Barkley than I have, they seem to think his problem is his off the ball work and that he really needs the experience at playing regularly. I think a move the the championship makes a lot of sense. By the sounds of it, these deficiencies in his game would be showed up too much were he playing regularly in the prem and would hurt us if we forced him into the first team ahead of players who at the moment would offer us more for the sake of teaching him.

I have no issues with this move and just look forward to adopting Sheff Wed as a bit of a second team for a few months.
