Ross Barkley

Would rather he was starting games at Sheff Wed than sitting on the bench at Norwich. The experience will be useful. Having said that i'd rather he stayed at Everton unless we have an influx of players.

Did you see him against QPR last season? He sure seemed ready to start a game then

One game. Moyes sees him in training every day. I've seen him for the Reserves numerous times since, when you'd expect him to step up and take the game by the scruff of the neck if he was '1st team ready'. He didn't. He needs week in, week out regular 90 minute football, and when he gets that he will come on leaps and bounds.

But he won't get that at Everton at the moment, nor should he because there are more experienced players ahead of him. We can't afford to have a kid making mistakes for us and costing us games.

I'd say you taking exception to someone accusing you of acting like a child is akin to you.erm.. acting like a child.

Anyway, are you implying that Barkley is a World class talent?

No I'm not implying it, I'm saying it. Yes, he's a potentially world class talent.

As for the examples, people are still missing the "technically gifted" part of the criteria. John Terry, Kyle Walker etc. developed industry and strength from the lower levels by playing with seasoned professionals, not technique and game awareness. Which is the exact reason I think a loan move for Vellios would make sense (as I've said about four times) but not for Barkley.

But isn't industry precisely what people are complaining Barkley doesn't have?

Positional and defensive awareness are his major faults I reckon. Which is something you rectify by training at a higher standard.

I don't think anyone criticises his work rate or physicality do they? (genuine question, would be surprised if they did).

Barkley on loan to Olympiacos???
