He was took out of the firing line for his own good. I've seen young players like Oster and Cadamarteri and Branch at Everton in the past - played into the ground and did them no good. Introduce the kid gently, and besides, who would he displace in the midfield at the moment?

He was introduced gently last season and got a good season of games under his belt. Now he's a year older, more mature and the most naturally gifted player on our books, I don't think he should start week in week out, but he's definitely good enough to be involved and could be a very useful impact player for us given his style. He's also versatile enough to play anywhere in midfield so there's lots of options for him.

I saw Barkley play against Hereford for the reserves in pre-season and he didn't play well.

Apparently that Southampton lad was 'outstanding in pre-season' for them.

Maybe Barkley isn't as good as some people think he is? Just a thought.

Firstly, he's not currently our "most talented playmaker" & secondly loaning him out to get guaranteed first team action for a couple of months can do him no harm whatsoever.

Barkley needs experience. If he's as good as you claim he is, why loan him to another Prem side so that he can earn them valuable points against us in the same division?

I know you are just a WUM because noone is actually that thick but i will indulge you. The championship is a good league with good football being played. Thats why in recent years alot of teams have come up and stayed up. He will be getting regular football instead of bit part appearances.

With us he will be quite rightly behind Fellaini, Gibson, Osman and Neville. Hes not our most talented playmaker. Hes a young kid with potential that needs games but also to learn as hes playing.

Osman was loaned out to Carlisle then Derby by Moyes and came back a far better footballer. Why wouldnt we want the same to happen to Barkley.
