Ross Barkley

Based on what?

With all due respect mate everything you say is based on ifs, buts and maybes.

Ross Barkley forced Everton to make that statement about signing by next week. That is an indisputable fact. He is a high value asset trying to play hard ball with the club for whatever reason, and the club obviously want him to sign. He obviously has doubts. The club go public as to be seen to be doing something about the situation and avoid looking like other clubs cherry pick our best players when he moves on. I mean we can't force the lad to sign but we have done all we can. If Rom had 12 months left I expect this scenario would have played out also.

The bit about the team spirit is nonsense. If it isn't great, IF, then I suspect Ross and Roms lack of commitment to Everton to be the reason why.
Really? Care to explain why this had to be dragged into the public domain with a 'sign or leave' order? Barkley forced that response did he?

It;s a disgrace.

Bollocks. Offered a contract and refused to sign it, it's not that hard. You pick up a pen and commit your future. He wants out.

Secondly, Lukaku was never here for the long run. Even if we invested hundreds of millions his heart is on Chelsea, the same way Ronaldo wanted Madrid

Stop spouting absolute negative [Poor language removed]
This is the truth on the matter and it's something some of us are having a hard time admitting.

What if the contract is £70k a week you thinks he should just shut up & sign seriously

Because he has 12 months left on his contract. Would you let him go for nothing? The club are putting pressure on him to sign and rightly so, why risk losing him for nothing and keep the "little Everton" image. Why is that disgraceful? Is he going to get all upset people aren't blowing smoke up his hole?

12 months into the new order and we have a situation where the three best young players at the club are either gone or going.

THAT is a scandal.

They might get away with it in the short term, but if next season goes arse up and we go backward this will all be on deck with a lot of recriminations.

This Dutchman is making a massive rod for his own back.

Underwhelming performance. Even for the goal, you could see he had no idea what to do with the ball before shooting.

I was keeping an eye on Koeman's body language. Looked frustrated with him a lot of the time.
Barkley played well tonight. Not brilliant but had a good game. No idea what he was doing but yet he scored. Scores a goal but no idea what he was doing....:)

He's got a big gob that's exacerbated the grim mood around this contract negotiation.

Come on Dave. Everyone knows he's in his last year and currently not signing. If Koeman had have said no comment, or "straight batted" the questions, the doubt and mood would be exactly the same, only with people moaning about Koeman not telling it straight.

Straightforward really, we have qualifying games in July, and can't hang around till august for him to make up his mind to say he wants to go, leaving us no time for a replacement. When a member of staff hands in their months' notice, you don't wait till day 31 to start interviewing.

I really want him to stay but this is entirely on his shoulders.
