Ross Barkley

When all I said and done, he is being offered vast amounts of money to play football for Everton football club.

The management want him to stay, the fans want him to stay.

For whatever reason he doesn't want to stay or is bargaining for more money which he or his agent think he is worth. Nobody else within the club obviously thinks the same.

So all the tittle tattle means nothing else, it really is as simple as another so called "boyhood blue" who apparently felt bad when Rooney left all those years ago is conducting his business in exactly the same manner.

Why anybody needs to defend him for this is completely baffling.

They pretty much all fit the description, but how does that back up your suggestion that Ross is being "royally shafted"? As far as I can make out, none of the others are making ridiculous demands and holding the club to ransom.
Are any of the others subject to constant media attention drummed up by this manager?

There is no question whatsoever that RB has been singled out.

He clearly is being undervalued if we are offering £70k a week he will get £100k a week elsewhere which unfortunately is no longer a top wage in modern football.

We are supposedly offering siggurdsonn well over £100k clearly I don't know if this is all true however if it is & you can't see why he wants to go then there is no point discussing it anymore as it's clear as daylight the club are letting him leave.
I wouldn't offer him more then 70k he isn't worth it, if Spurs are really after him and offering good money to him it sounds like we might get good money for him .
If we can sell him and get Sigurdsson for less money it would be fantastic business from the cub.

"Dodgy foundations"? I'm intrigued. What do you suggest it's built on....the same squad which has totally underachieved for 4-5 seasons and which bottles every single big game? You have to make change to deliver different outcomes.
For the record I'd love Ross and Rom to stay- but I understand it's their reluctance to sign contracts that's forcing the Clubs hand. If you prefer to rely on the romanticism that players love the Club and are being forced out then good luck with that, but be careful of building your foundations on that base.

Not one bit and never said that.

These foundations for me are based on a manager that could easy look at the picture next season, and if we're sitting 7th again and out of all competitions (or even lower than that due to a threadbare squad), he'll jump.

This then leaves said building another year behind.

For all his ruthlessness he's also the biggest culprit for thinking he's bigger than the club to me.

Repost....

Compare and contrast:

Koeman on Barkley...

“I think it’s his responsibility and the responsibility also of his agent to say yes or no because that’s what the club needs to know because we can’t wait until the last moment, it’s not good for the player and it’s not good for the club. We have offered him a contract, they had several meetings about a new contract and this is contract, we don’t go and go and go. This is what he needs to sign if he wants to stay.”

Koeman on himself...

"If the club likes to talk they will come and I will see," said Koeman. "I won't knock on their door. When I worked in Feyenoord I signed three times a one-year contract and we spoke in January. There's time enough. Why one year before? We can wait, no problem. We can wait."

“My first option was to continue at Southampton, to do my last season of contract, but it was not possible,” said Koeman. They said it’s not good because we like to know the future. I said it was not a problem because I signed three times a one-year contract with Feyenoord in Holland.

So you think he is being royally shafted because he is refusing to sign the contract and Koeman has gone public about it?

Negotiate until the end of the window then make a choice.

It's THAT blindingly obvious.

What you dont do is issue a numb nuts statement about him being finished here next week if he doesn't respond to the gun at his head.

There's no justifying an act of immense stupidity, and that's what this current manager has done. I can only hope he's a loose canning just shooting his mouth off again rather than this being the policy of the club itself.

So again, just another reason for you to have a pop at the manager.

You are so like a woman who has split up with her ex, see him with somebody else now and are so jilted and upset you cannot stop spouting off at anybody who will listen as you bad mouth your ex, despite everybody actually knowing your ex is actually a sound guy and liked by everybody.

It's about the best analogy I can come up with, but this is really how it comes across.

That's right. So let's put the £150K nonsense in the bin where it belongs.

Why, there's a chance it could be true and a chance it's not. Either way Ross has a very lucrative deal in front of him which is going to let him continue a fortunate lifestyle that none of us will ever experience.

But that's not good enough for him. Like I said, where's the loyalty

The difference is, a player contract is a very valuable asset of the club, unlike a manager's contract.

If you let a manager enter into the last 12 months of his contract, there's a chance he may go and manage elsewhere at the end of it. If you let a player of Barkley's calibre enter into the last 12 months of his contract, there is a chance the club could lose upwards of £15m-20m.

Much rather have both siggirdson price probably will be more if Swansea stay up & he will be on alot more than 70k a week
