Ross Barkley

The clock is literally ticking now.

Why Ross has not said a word over this is a little baffling. For all the many reasons and issues etc going on, it is a simple situation he is in. If he hasn't signed a new contract before sunday then the manager says he will sell him. How often do you get that from a home grown player especially? Least if Ross come out and said he wanted to go or stay then it adds some weight to one side.

Saying nothing is making it seem a bit silly to me, like he is a teenager repeatedly saying 'i'm not bovverd' every time Koeman threatens to sell him because he is trying to be hard and refuse to sign it

Rom and Ross do seem less frandly to each other the last year or so. They looked like best mates in their first season

Romelu came out literally just the other week in an interview and said something along the lines of "Ross's progress makes me want to work harder" or words to that effect.

I don't know what they know, but the ladies who did the stadium tour seemed sure he is off. They also mentioned Pickford, Sigurdsson and Batshuayi in....

:)

Right. I offer this with no guarantee of correctness. It may or may not be true, and it may or may not mean anything whatsoever even if it is true. But it's from the same fella (a kopite) who has given me info on the stadium stuff previously. He's not normally clued up on transfers, but he is well placed to know this particular snippet.

Anyway...Ross Barkley's girlfriend (who works in the north end of the city - I won't say where) apparently handed in her notice at work on Friday saying that their family was moving.

As I say, this is purely rumour and I am not claiming it to be a fact! Just something I have heard.

Does she work for Merseyrail?

Clocks have been ticking for years mate, nothing to do with a contact offer.

I like the general level of not arsedness by most blues over the Ross situation.

Most nave realised that if a player doesn't want to stay at Everton, he is better off getting out the sooner the better.

I don't buy into the "Koeman doesn't rate him" theory. He clearly does, but probably also realises he's not the second coming of Christ and needs to earn his place and not play regardless, similar to what the clown of a manager prior to him had put in place.

Ross has had a tough couple of years as a player. One minute hailed as the next big thing, to now not even getting any time on the field for his country and being overlooked for the likes of Oxlade-Chamberlaine and more recently Nathan Redmond and even Jake Livermore have been used before him.

No denying he has been decent in the second half of the season, but maybe a fresh start for all concerned is the best thing if he is not prepared to buy into the Koeman and Walsh vision and era, the last thing you need is a moody player causing atmosphere around the changing rooms.

Anybody with a coaching brain would see the limitations in Ross.
Sell him now for as much as possible and for the betterment of our team for next season.
