Is that actually supposed to make Barkley look like an afterthought?

Oh boy.

He is in their plans so much they'll forgo any attempt to sign anyone else for his position and sweat it out to get his signature.

The laugh is on those who doubted that this thoroughbred amongst a bunch of nags would possibly be wanted by a CL club.

That's hilarious.

Squad game at CL clubs mate. You think people dont respect Son or Eriksen who've been dropped or rotated at WHL?

No, this wont do. The lad had doubts cast on his credentials to be a CL club player. He is that and then some...as you and those others who feel jilted were told many times.

This is just Levy at his best. He thinks he is in the box seat in every negotiation he handles and runs it that way irrespective of what others say or do. Based on his form he'll cool it now as the asking price - reportedly £50mill?? - is way too high and wait until the end of the window to low-ball an offer we can't refuse as Ross only has a season left and reportedly wants to leave.

The gamble is that someone else actually does come in in the meantime and make an acceptable offer. Or Ross actually decides he wants to stay and sign.

Eriksen started 36 games in the league for Spurs last season? Hardly rotated. Unless you're suggesting Barkley would be happy to play a bit-part in the season by filling in during FA cup and league cup games, Dave?

Almost everyone on here has very short memories. Ross Barkley playing like we know he can (Jan to March last season for example) will be first name in team sheet. Players being brought in are to compliment/challenge him.
