I defend him , but to me he is going I feel to reading these pages his support is waning for him if he feels not wanted by the club and the many posters on here who feel they know everything in his contract - then if he goes I wish him all the best as I feel he will become a very top midfielder as Rooney proved to be !
He was sold to cheaply , and now like @davek stated why was this contract left to run down if he had the same feelings last year then we should have got top money last year or thrashed out a good deal for him - this has turned into a public debarcle - Moshiri needs to kick backsides too!

I read somewhere it may even have been the OS maybe last month that koeman said he wanted McCarthy to be a big player this year and was going to be integral. I don't personally see where he fits in bar being a squad player
I see nothing wrong with offering a contract with 15months left on it(could be more) became public at this stage. At least one side is telling us what's going on while Barkley hides under a rock... I much prefer Lukaku's style of telling us what he wants while banging in goals than what Barkley is at...if I want a mystery I'd read Agatha Christie and as for your bashing of Koeman for answering the question honestly when asked and saying he needs an answer at the end of the season consider this; if nothing was said and Barkley was sold July 1st how would you feel? I for one would be very annoyed at that. I find Koeman's honesty refreshing, especially after 3 years of Phenomawaffle from Meester Eeecredible.

I don't really know what it is you want from Koeman, to keep quiet say nothing and let his player decide everything. Like flogging a dead horse with you really, if it was another player you have less affinity with you'd probably be fine with it.

We paid the compensation FGS he just walked out on them after telling them he was staying -like one day he will either be sacked or walk out on us - his record is an average of three years per club!
