Ross Barkley

Dele Alli has come on massively and still isn't as good as Barkley. Barkley scores more goals, gets more assists, and is more involved in the match. Alli's probably further along than Barkley was at that age, but even with the recent wonder goals he still has fewer than Barkley.

Barkley plays number ten every minute of every game. His goal and assist record really isn't that amazing.

maybe we should find a nr 10 then - if Barkley has not played there for a long time - because to me it looked as though he was trying to play 10

can you go the game and shout that at him and then boo for a bit?

cheers
I don't boo Ross. He's a blue. Hell, he's what I would KILL to have been if not for my knee.

Would say ~95% of his shots are blocked tho. From 2-3 yards away. He's not good at getting a shot away. Why do you think this is a shot at him? I'd doubt even he would say he doesn't need to work on it.

Id say he just doesn't shoot enough anymore in general. Although he has been told to take more risks in the final third so maybe it will increase.

He should have had a crack a few times today.

At least he's trying to do things on the ball and get forward, when things don't come off or he misses a chance he looks gutted, he's a smashing lad and one of us. Wouldn't bother me to see stones go because of his petulance and the fact he can't defend for shyte. Ross will be class very soon and it would kill me to see him go.

If you've been watching you'll see most of that "playing deeper" comes from our shape defensively which is a 4-3-3 but when we have control of the ball it shifts back to a 4-2-3-1 so yes he very much still plays as a #10.
It doesn't shift to a 4-2-3-1 when we have the ball -- the other central midfielder (whether that be Besic, Cleverley, or even McCarthy) pushes up as well, and the only players back are the two central defenders (unless Stones is off on some attacking run) and Barry.
