I'm a massive fan but I thought yesterday was one of his worst games of the season. Very little seemed to come off for him. Sign of a good player thought if he can still slot while playing poorly

Tghink a lot of that was lots of the balls he put into places people should have been making runs into - looking at you Lukaku, but they didn't so they looked aimless balls, can't blame the person trying to make things happen really, reminded me a lot of the way Deulofeu was crossing into dangerous areas only for no one to actually make the run to the place so looked pointless crosses
4-5 times he placed the ball into space for Lukaku to make a diagonal run onto - the exact thing he loves to do, only for him to be sitting on the last defender back to goal calling after why it wasn't played into his feet, needs to learn to gamble and make those runs a lot more really, think he's gone into - not gonna pass to me mode so cba making the runs when never get the ball mode, a by product of our sideways and backwards passing mentality and its effect further up the field

He'll win ours. Toss up between him & Lukaku the POTY & YPOTY the think for us.
For the League i genuinely do think Russ has been better than Dele Alli and should win it at a canter, but he probably wont.

He can usually do no wrong in my eyes but I didn't think he was that good yesterday.
Do you think he played well? Maybe my expectations are to high or maybe he looks better in games that are a bit more open? He always seems to have his best games against the bigger teams because he has more space to run into.

He did some staggering things on the ball. He's almost impossible to tackle sometimes, there are few players in the world like him with a combination of strength and skill.
His combination play with Rom was off, but I think that was more down to Lukaku being hesitant to make the runs behind, as he often is without Deulofeu feeding him. But he scored, and could (should) have had a second.
Not having a crack at your post like, but I've just noticed there always seems to be quite a contrast in people's opinions of his performances.

In a way yes, but the otherside of it is bad as he's now not getting the recognition and praise Barkley genuinely deserves.
We all agree he's been superb has Russ, but we're all resigned to the fact that Dele Alli will probably win PFA YPOTY despite Russ deserving it more.

Coutinho was nominated for YPOTY a last season and he was 22. Ross was 21 when the Season started so qualifies for it regardless. Its under 24 i think, well used to be.
