Personally I thought he went backwards last season, he got an injury early doors and it really knocked the lad for 6, coupled with the moans and groans from the Goodison crowd it hurt the lad. It could have gone another way, but instead he put his head down and believed in his talent, which is unmeasurable, he can be whatever he wants to be.
I said a few years ago that Jack Rodwell could be anything he wanted to be, young Jack had a cracking head on his shoulders and was very talented, sadly injury has robbed the poor lad of the career that could have been.
Ross has just grown and grown this season, hes taking games by the scruff and hes proving that the hype was real, still makes mistakes in games and still dwells on the ball at times, but he has everything in his locker to be a real player, hes a strong lad on the ball, can pick a pass and isnt afraid to put his foot through the ball, hes 22 years old so his "mistakes" shouldnt be highlighted, sadly we and yes I include myself, but we as a fanbase like to highlight the bad things our young players do.
We have a supremely talented lad here, who, like us, worships Everton, Martinez chats utter wham, but we really do have a diamond in Ross Barkley.
