Ross Barkley

Goal v City, QPR, Newcastle away, Norwich, Watford. When Henderson Lallana Milner or Delph get anywhere near the levels of those goals then Barkley should fear for his place.

Instead a player who has been fit all season and has some of the best stats in the prem for English attacking midfielders has his place under threat from:

Sterling: in and out the City team, poor form nearly all year, seems to have lost his pace and technical ability

Henderson: injured all year, schooled at recent Euros and World Cup

Delph: don't even need to put anything

Sturridge: injury prone, similar to other strikers, will be backup at best, can he change a game of Vardy Kane and Rooney haven't impacted it?

If Barkley played for Liverpool or United his place wouldn't even be getting questioned now.

To be fair, on recent form, Barkley probably doesnt deserve to go to the Euros. BUT, as you mentioned, what sort of form do Sterling, Henderson, Delph have!?

Wilshere, Oxlade Chamberlain, Welbeck. If they are even remotely fit, these three players make every Roy Hodgson England squad REGARDLESS of form

I hope he goes, not that I really want Everton players getting burnt out over the summer and maybe injured but Ross needs confidence and being told that he isn't needed won't do him any good.

Limitless get out of jail cards!? He is 22 years of age. 22!! And he scored 12 goals and got 11 assists this season in a season when we were awful as a team.

I dont think anyone can doubt his ability, he has got all the attributes to be a top player, when he is on form he looks a proper class act.

Yes, we havent seen him produce his form on a consistent basis so far. But for me that is his only problema. Consistency.

If he gets to 27 and he's still as inconsistent as he is now then OK, maybe he has used up all his 'get out of jail free cards'. But to suggest he has already run out of 'get out of jail free cards' at 22 sounds like you are writing him off to be.

The lad is a top top prospect, and he is a local lad, the best we have had since Rooney, they dont come around to often, we need a bit of patience with him. When he becomes consistent he is going to be top class
I never said anything of the sort. I said he cannot be afforded them for ever. I didn't say he'd already used them up.

I fully expect all of them except Delph to be ahead of Ross, Roy has his favourites and he will take them regardless,as proved by Wilshire. Ross has gone from playing all the friendlies to pretty much out the reckoning. I would love to him at the Euro's but doubt he would get game time if he goes. He's seemed a bit heavy and heavy footed recently, whether thats too much weight or too much muscle or even playing with a knock, his feet seem a split second slower than in other games.

Well thats a discussion for a few years time and not now then isnt it. Have a bit of patience with our most promising youngster of the last 10 years

Ross, 12 goals, 11 assists for the season.
Alli, 10 goals, 12 assists for the season.
Ross had an awful second half to the season as well.
"Twice" the player isn't backed up anywhere really.
A firing Ross Barkley that believes in himself is a superior player to Alli, simple as

Well its not as simple as that really is it?

But for any of that to happen Barkley needs to be firing and believing in himself which is the whole crux of the argument isnt it?
