Ross Barkley

He not a defensive player and needs to focus on attacking qualities, why does every player have to run around like Henderson

Thats what I´m saying. It´s not his job. He was so awful before at the defensive side of things that it did bug me, and you get used to watching top teams recently press with all 11 players, but if the boss thinks he should get on with what he is good at and not concern himself overly with defensive positioning I am fine with that.

All those times when he is not concertedly chasing a man back or only loosely in the area when we are being attacked often result in him being available for an out ball to break when we turn over possession.

I definitely prefer taking risks like that to allow for greater attacking freedom, and I´m sure Ross bloody loves it.

That moment on Saturday when Ross delayed and delayed on the break and failed to release the ball to Kone who was in the clear: that's exactly the reason we require a specialist playmaker. Barkley is playing well, but he's not got that type of feel yet in terms of when to hold or give.

He's got to do it at the right time.

Definitely lethargic in his half hearted attempt to close the Matic shot down.I think we'll just have to accept that while he's still young his concentration levels will fluctuate, but can you imagine the 26 year old Barkley? Just hope we still have him then.

Must be the late nights he's having, he was bladdered on Saturday night in town.

Ya, but by the same token his pass was perfectly timed for the 3rd goal.

That was Kones fault, not barkleys, at all. The pass was perfect to the run Kone was making, and Kone couldn't be arsed, so stopped running.

No mate, he had to stop his run because another step and he'd have wandered offside. Barkley delayed the pass way too long. He doesn't have the feel for the timing of that type of pass. Not yet anyway.

As said, I think it underlined just how we require specialist operators in there behind Lukaku.

i had the perfect view point of it mate, he passed it and kone just stopped running, it was the perfect pass for the run kone was making, he wouldn't have been offside because the defenders weren't in a position for him to be offside. He just didn't make the run, Kones mind went off and that's all there is to it.

He got level with the last defender and stopped. He was right to, because the moment had passed. I think he was hoping Barkley would appreciate that he'd dithered with the ball too long and would switch it right to Lukaku who was also open.

Mate, we're not going to agree.

Kone literally stopped, for no reason, only thing i can think of is he was tired because he got took off only a few moments later.

The pass and weight on the ball was perfect, Kone just didn't finish the run, Takes two to make a pass, Kone failed his part.

But didn't the flag go up? So whether or not he looked offside from your vantage point, the linesman thought it was so it would have been called back
