Ross Barkley

Both hugely overrated players who have nothing to their game but passing sideways and having an angry face. MCCarthy has a bit of pace, and Fellaini could bring down a high ball well but we over paid hugely for both of them.

As this thread is about Ross, neither of the two above are able to touch him in terms of ability. Ross is our best midfielder by far and shouldn't be shunted around the pitch to accommodate significantly inferior players like McCarthy and Barry.

Blimey.

You're really on one lately mate.
Plus you keep coming out with this drivel.

Different positions need different talents, and McCarthy is an excellent ball winner, covers ground quickly and effectively, keeps good discipline positionally.

He can't do some of the things that Barkley does. Yes.

Answer: play them both and stop comparing them.
And have a brew.

I don't think i've ever seen Ross tackle anyone. Doesn't need to though. He glides past anything that stands in his way.
He's that kid in school who was totally not arsed about tackling but would occasionally stick his leg in to win it.

Someone on here said he was quite a tough tackler while coming up through the youth pre-injury so would be interested to see how much of an impact the injury had on his confidence when tackling.

....I think he played Centre Back for a spell when he was a kid. As others have said, he is a fine mover but he's also a big lad. As such he's relatively easy for opposition players to go past him. That's why his position in the team is important as is who plays alongside.
