I wonder what happens now then?

If no one buys him because he's injured, will Ross sign the extension for a pay rise and then agitate for a move again in January? Does he get his head down and try to get back in the team? Or does he train with the reserves until getting sold in January?

Many possibilities now

I personally hope he now signs the new contract and fights his way back into the team

Sounds like he hassle we really don't need to me.

If he was Ronaldo, or even somebody as good as Alexis Sanchez, you would try and make an exception, but he isn't, so we shouldn't.

Or will he let his contract run out and go for free,I really hope that is not in his mind.

Him being injured won't stop clubs buying him.

Chelsea bought Bakayoko this season for £40mill while he had a knee injury.

He'll sign a contract in September/October and move either January or next summer, or he goes full on idiot and runs his contract out.

They're the only options now. He has no future at Everton. He hasn't got a move through injury and that alone; there's no way back now.

6 weeks for a grade 3 hamstring strain though?
Someones been drinking the specialist's Koolaid if so, I'd have his prognosis more-so in months than weeks.
Grade 3 is a complete rupture, and can be very difficult to recover properly without re-injury given the crucial role of hamstrings in decelerating gait making it quite a complex rehabilitation.

Unless ofc the whole things part of a process of him staying

If off field stuff is a driving reason then we could be playing an elaborate game.

Big if like.

This injury is probably a clever ploy to allow the window to pass and then Ross will sign a massive new contract while saying he didn't really want to move anyway.......

It actually wouldn't shock me mate. Since he got sparked out the entire situation has felt very very weird.

lets face it everton hold the power now

barkley won't pass a medical so he can't leave

he's now stuck at everton

it's the world cup year

we can basically do a "niasse" on Barkley and just let him rot in the under 23's all year or he can sign the contract and we can sell him in the summer or after the world cup if he still wants to leave for a decent wedge

I don't get the breathless 'gangsta' posts. The whole gangsta wife thing happened in 2014. If the gangsta hasn't done anything by now, then the whole thing is probably over or perhaps they are not quite on the sopranos level as many here seem to believe .(mind you if he knew it was a criminals wife then Barkley is an idiot)

I reckon it's just personality clash with koeman. Sometimes we get bad bosses who make us want to resign or move on. Hopefully in this case Barkley stays and plays this year and signs with us later on year. He would be a fantastic squad rotation player.
It would explain the reasons why he got punched in a bar though. I think there's a good chance he has stuck his finger in a some forbidden pies. That would be stupid if so but money and fame does weird things to people.

Still hope he stays personally.
