What's it say? Twitter doesn't show in my work browser.

The club has stood by him since he was a kid. He ends up in the team every week, the stuff of dreams for every Evertonian. Runs his contract down & turns down a £35m summer move to recover here so he can go cheaper for even better personal terms.

Couldn’t make it up.

How do you know they didn't?
Maybe they did. Maybe he didn't want it at that stage. Maybe he was hounded out. Maybe he was intent on leaving. No one knows apart from a few people privy to it.

I put the emphasis on the club because the club always has wanted the cash in the past and they use the media to put their side across to ease a player out.

That should have been the period the club moved top rebuild bridges with Barkley. If Unsworth had been made manager I feel sure he'd have fought hard to keep him.
Based on what dave?

He's one bad rat who couldn't wait to leave the sinking ship after his mates successfully bailed and until he comes out and proves otherwise that's what I'll believe.

None of us know ANYTHING about what's gone on, what's been said, what's been offered. So you can blame the club or the player or the agent or the fans.

We will never know.

He's been gone since the Summer just accept it and move on.

Most of us have I think.

It's the strange people who feel the need to blame everybody bar the lad himself for shafting the club.

Wrong and double wrong Dave and you know it, Lukaku wanted out long before Moshiri was even talked about, a couple months after he'd signed permanently and got that smile toad of an agent, who, let's not forget, told the world that he would have advised Lukaku NOT to sign for the club at all had he been hired that summer
He always talked about it. Under Moshiri he put the wheels in motion.

His sale was NEEDED for Everton to spend this summer.

...I doubt you’ll change @davek view on this one Jake but I agree with you. These fella’s have the ego that wants to play for the very top clubs. No amount of investment would’ve changed Lukaku’s mind. Of course we want our best players to stay but that will only happen when we are successful.
And I can understand him and Stones.

I can even understand Barkley but I despise him for making this choice.

April 2017.

Everton sit in seventh place in the Premier League, seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City having played a game more.

Koeman is asked a direct question about Ross Barkley/contract.

"I spoke to Ross several weeks ago and he mentioned his ambition, Champions League, and I told him I have the same ambition," Koeman said.

"We're going in a good direction and he is a key player, he is a kid of the club, a kid of the town and in my opinion, there is no better place for him to continue.

"I think it's a normal ambition for players, every player and manager wants to play in the Champions League.

"Our next step is to play in Europe, it may be difficult, if we finish fifth or sixth that will be perfect because you don't play any pre-qualification games for Europe."

Koeman added: "I am not involved in the negotiations, but I know the board is talking to his agent.

"I think the way he is improving this season, Everton is the best place for him to continue."

The writing has been on the wall for some time - he wants off, wants a new challenge.

Prior his antics in January I'd have said I think he's making a mistake but good luck to the lad, but after his antics on deadline day, for me he sails past Barmby as the biggest rat of an Everton player in my time supporting the club.

I'm going to boo him, loads. BOOOOO

Unsworth stated he wanted him to stay.
Soz, I thought you meant he would have signed if Unsworth was made manager.

Everyone in the club wants him to stay and has probably already fought to try and keep him here.

His head is set, he's turned his back on the entire club and got his tattoos removed.

This is it 100%.

He wants to leave the club because he thinks he can do better elsewhere. Good riddance to the rat.

Lets be honest out of the 3 Ross Barkley is the most likely to struggle.

But what we must not forget is that Ross Barkley is the only one out of the 3 who has played the club like a second hand fiddle and screwed us for 6 months worth of wages whilst he rehabilitates before his move to wherever he ends up.

People "feeling sorry for him" or feeling the need to defend him are actually beyond belief and twisted agendas are off the scale on this one!
