Exactly.

Alisher Usmanov isn't invading Ukraine. Neither is he shelling Ukrainian cities.

I support Everton - a football club.

Keep politics out of it cheers.

I tell you who is shelling cities though, the Saudi government who own Newcastle. And Standard Chartered help fund those groups.

They're not on any sanctions list though.

Imagine letting Tories or the EU dictate morality to you. Shameful from the club.

Everton has nowhere near the kind of status of Chelsea and the moshiri tenure has shown prospective owners how difficult it will be for Everton to get even near that level. Taking over a championship club with no debt and good facilities would not be far worse than taking over Everton but for maybe a quarter of the price. Everton are on the brink of ffp. The stadium still needs paying for and the playing squad is bottom half prem standard at best. It's not an attractive proposition at all

christ sake

WE aren't tied to Usmanov. Moshiri is tied to Usmanov and no amount of Government sanctions can affect that.
Usmanov can not directly pay for anything Everton related. . . but he never has. Initially because he was still involved with Arsenal and latterly because he prefers to not be 'officially' involved. He just happens to have a 'friend' who he helps out financially now and then.
this

so people stop now

I’m no Tory but let’s be honest here, Tory or Labour, none of them have ever batted an eye on human rights abuses when doing business with these countries. They’re as bad as each other in that aspect for me.

Didn’t stop the richest people buying Newcastle. I respect your opinion but I believe we would find suitors for the club.

Is he? He’s not even asking for the loans to be repaid, I doubt it will be that much unless you know otherwise.
If he not asking for the loans to repaid that’s a billion off the bill. I saw a report this morning that’s his asking price. I also think it won’t be that price. I’m also confused as to why he is allowed to sell.

Correct. And it’s because they’re paying the UK and USA for those bombs. As long as it lines our government’s pockets they’ll happily turn an evil blind eye…..

I cant really argue with that. The British state is a cesspit.

What do you thinks going to happen mate?

I can only see it going one of two ways:

1. Moshiri waits for the heat to die down before getting the sponsers back.

or

2. Mosh/Uncle Uz have little long term interest in investing any further and sell us on.

Sadly if its no2 I cant see us attracting anyone but some shyster Yank looking to make a quick buck rather than some Qatari Royal Family member some are hopeful of.

A leveraged buy out from a US consortium

Yes those 2 options really. The suspension makes me think they brazen it out. I dont see the war lasting a long time. Once the war ends, whichever way it does, the next big issue comes in.

Dont think for 1 moment the pearl clutchers really care about this issue. Next month they'll be onto their next issue.

If they sell, I suspect it might be to a Chinese investor. Russia and China are getting closer. I suspect Oligarchs just take their assets their. The UK housing prices drop. We all lose out, and China gains. But a few tub thumpers get to feel self important.
