Safari 4 is my browser of choice, as it's pretty cutting edge in terms of features, but still in beta.

This site doesn't work so well with it, and many of the buttons for some reason don't work. Which may well be down to the forum software.

Just given you a heads up for when all the other browsers catch up.

Right, well this thread has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I actually feel like ******* off and work in some demeaning job because at the moment I feel ******* worthless. So thanks Danny. Good luck in what you do, but my job is obviously a piece of piss and anyone can do it - so what's the point?

Touchy bugger you today.

I dont think its a profession, but many will, and if fools will pay £150 for a installation of something like symphony, then fair enough.

Its a dying profession though - most 13 year olds now can design a website if they need too. Which is why, I dont regard it as a career, but a hobby. Not just web design anyway, unless you are seriously sh*t hot.

No need to get on your high horse about it.

Biggest load of ****e I've ever heard in my life.

Can't imagine many 13 year olds sitting around the table talking over the design requirements of the BBC redesign.

Can't believe I am actually hearing these words. You are now saying that my job is so meaningless that a 13 year old child can do it. Well cheers mate, and your telling me I am touchy? **** me!

I think it's getting a bit mean spirited now aint it, but at the same time, it shouldn't be hurting you too much fella since you apparently make loads off of it and it's not your only job, so why care what he says?

They can though Ghost.

14/15 year olds have to create a website and host it to obtain a GCSE in ICT - Which is compulsory in 99% of schools.

Thats fact.

[Edit] So you know I am not lying, http://www.passict.com/GCSE/Website/build/index.htm

i built a website in dreamweaver. Looked shoite mind.

Well thats cool mate. I tend to not use anything like Dreamweaver because I handcode without any software. So regardless of whether someone is winding me up or really thinks my job can be done by a 13 year old, I have spent many hours learning how to code the right way.

Oh come on Danny behave now. There's a difference between muddling a GCSE and making an actual site for a business, and you know that but you're just winding him up.

I'm very disappointed

Students are expected to approach a company and make a website. Google it, honestly.

For your GCSE website project you need to to produce a website that contains the following elements.

Import data from another application
Image manipulation
Web bots
Forms
CGI Scripts

Theres more but cant be bothered pasting from a table. Thats more than business cards I can assure you :P

Most schools do GNVQ ICT too (Which I gained), which is 4 GCSEs so the standard is much higher.

So web design, is and can be done by young teenagers.

The best designer I have ever seen is 15.

Who is he/she?

Just because it can be done at a young age, doesn't mean it's that simple, it just means that that person is very skilled. But like I say your not going to find many paid designers at that age.
